Hehe. I just asked this question on another thread from a patron's point of view!

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=dancer&message.id=22126

You have dancers and you have patrons - and we both hate afk macroing! Where can we go to interact with live players? Someone on Tempest has posted suggesting Tyrena as a designated cantina for live performers. I'll go to Tyrena everytime I need to be healed, even if it is not gauranteed that a dancer/musician/entertainer will be there, just for the chance to see a live dancer and have some relaxing conversation!

I know of one place that has live performers and audience. On the Bria server, go to Veritas, Naboo. The Bishops' Sanctuary is dedicated to live performers.

I can't guarantee that someone will be there, but the chances are darn good on any weeknight and most of the time on weekends.

If you need directions or help, just send me a /tell in game.

You can alsosend me, Leivi, Dranon or Shailas a /tell or email. One of us is bound to be around or reachable soon. Roho and Shailas are musicians and the others of us are dancers. We have a very active guild in town and quite often have guildmates in for buffs and heals. Still, even during the times when there isn't a patron to be had, we always have a good time - ents make their own fun where ever they are!

Back when the game had just started out, Tyrenna was THE place to be in Kettemoor for entertainment, as it lacked the lag of Coronet and there was a friendlier atmosphere (or so I'm told by the people whowere around then)

It saddens metoo that the cantinas are full of afkers, but I try to maintain a cheery attitude. Upuntil a couple of weeks ago,Bestine was great forRPing and live entertanment, but it seems to have gone downhill too...

Imagine mysuprise whenI walk into coronet the other day and there are more than three atk entertainers! Shocking,I know. Best time I'd had in Cor in a while.

Myadvise is stick withthedancing, wherever it is and be enthusiastic, even when all around you are silently hologrinding. It'll be worth it when the jedi re-vampcomes and there will be an extreme decrease in hologrinders. Infact there shouldn't be any afk dancers in there at all as what is the point in becoming an entertainer if you're not going tosocialise?

Haha I am a master daner and feel your pain...BUT I know a good deal about the places to go and what are the best places to perform. On the Shadowfire server the Theed cantina has its share of afkers (for those who just want to get through it....(mostly holo grinder guys) and it has a great share of live performing ents and many patrons....I almost never leave this cantina and haha I never go afk...SO if you are considering starting on the Shadowfire server I don't think you will be let down heehee there are many a patron that pass through there..many of whom are friends and of course people I don't know but there is always a patron and live ents in there....at least to my knowledge and I am always in there heehee good luck hun!! We ents need more people like you willing to stay live!!! And performing is not dead!!!

Very true, but unfortunately there are still plenty of mis-guided dancers and musicians who AFK grind their xp and say things like "Once I reach Master then I'll play at the keyboard" or "I'll be able to enjoy the profession once I'm a master, until then it's too boring."

Ultimately those people are really not cut out to be entertainers, because once the newness of your master level dances/instruments/songs wears off (and it happens quickly), performing is still performing. I had just as much fun at Novice Dancer as I do at Master, sometimes more. I suspect the people who think all the fun happens at Master will quickly learn otherwise and drop the profession.

Then of course there are the alt characters who are levelled to be buffbots, but we shall not speak of it here.

Thanks for the suggestions, i will check them out.

I was actually based in Theed on Shadowfire and could not for the life of me get heals, groups, patrons. Was on there for two days before I finally gave up. Maybe it is just a slow week.

I am of course biased, but I highly recommend Eclipse when it comes to ATK entertaining. Currently there are three big bands including my own (Talus Moon), Astral Fantasia, and The Force - not to mention a host of others including the entertainer only guild Twin Suns Entertainment.

So if you are looking for a change, check out Entertainment on Eclipse

Hiya Atrana,

I see my partners in crime . . . err fellow denizens of Bishop's Sanctuary in Veritas on Naboo, Roho and Kirah have already sent you an invitation! Let me also add my owninvitation. ( /invite Atrana). . . /giggle. All seriousness aside. . . we do have a great time. Like sister Kirah said, Ents make their own fun. Kirah isTHE best, Roho is an A #1 square shooter (sorry he's already taken), Dranon and Shailas (the new kids on the block) are also great performers and top notch guys. Then theres me . . . oh well, no group is perfect. Anyway if you ever do stop in on Bria, please look us up. You sound like you have thesoul of an an entertainer, as such I'm sure you will do well no matter where you finally decide to stay. Follow your heart and you'll never go wrong. Good luck!

It's true. Tyrena was one of my favorite places to go and dance. I purely discovered it on accident. It was my first time on Corellia, I'd just dropped off a couple nice shiny new mining installations by Kor Vella. Since there was no starport there I had to shuttle somewhere to return to Naboo. I just randomly bought a ticket to Tyrena, and decided to drop by the cantina there. That is where I spent the next few months.

I'm told my cantina is quite active on Wednsday late afternoon/early evening. I'm not there to see for myself though. (The Island Dive, Temenos Island, Naboo.) I've not been playing much on Kettemoor lately to know what is active cantina-wise. On Bria I occasionally see life in Tyrena. Usually an entertainer there, but some times it's someone AFK. I'd say 50/50 during evenings and weekends.

I am so upset right now. I used to play a dancer a while back. I left for a while and missed it so I came back. I am horrified! I can't dance anywhere! I have remade 6 different dancers. Different servers, different cities. Every single Cantina I enter is exactly the same. Afk dancers, no groups, because they are all filled with AFK dancers, no healers, no patrons. I am so upset by this. I love performing and interacting with my patrons and now I have to dance and play in the streets just to get an audience.

Is there any city on any server where you can still perform your craft in front of a willing audience or is performing dead?

Hi Reolae Oacra here from tempest server. My fiancee is the one that suggested the idea of revitalizing tyrena's entertainer scene. Last night he finally picked up musician to play and keep me company while i dance in the cantina. I have spent the past few days touring especially in the dantooine mining outpost where many adventurers and fortune seekers go. I have been spreading word that Tyrena is once again populated and have been asking other LIVE entertainers to join my fiancee and me in Tyrena. I understand that you might not initially make the same money that you would make in coronet or on tempest the mining outpost. But i have also been asking doctors to consider operating out of tyrena also. With enough entertainers and a slowly built list of live performers and patrons the cantina is starting to resemble a sleepy back town bar. There are 4 venues to perform in in tyrena i hope that soon we will be asking different groups to go to different venues to perform and heal people so we dont havea coronet situation with tyrena.

I didnt want to necessarily do this but i am going to have a droid made soon to stat the fact that someone is in the cantina in Tyrena and set it to travel around the starport so that people know they can come to the cantina to be healed.

Warning though, Stormtroopers do regularly come through and harass the entertainers. They best thing i have learned to do is smile at them and watch as they harass someone else. For those faction conscience people tyrena is rebel sympathetic but has an imperial garisson to try and keep the populace in line.

If you want to know more about this plan please feel free to Pm me here in the forums or send a mail to me in game. I would love to perform along side other live entertainers

What i have noticed server wide is a large portion of the population in the cantina's dancing and playing music are Hologrinders....yes hologrinding is still strong and alive across all servers. There are very few dancers left.

What ive noticed is there is very little groups, bands or interaction because of this grinding. Hopefully this will all come to an end when the hologrinding ends...then we will see who the real dancers/players are.

Just take a look in the cantina, examine the people there and see how many have mastered multiple professions. You will see that most of the AFK performers are also hologrinders trying to bust out of the profession and move on.
