Thread: Proposal: Redo the Dancing Techniques line
Make it use "dancing effects experience". This experience is only granted by using the effects.
Make the effects be items that are crafted. (Ie, a smoke bomb takes... 10 organic and 10 chemical) Make these items give area mind buffs to everyone watching. Allow them to stack up so that a dancer that does maybe 10 smoke bombs can give someone a Mind buff equivalent to what a medic can do to health/action.
Why? The biggest reason is the RP reason... How do I make smoke appear magically? I'm just a dancer...The other reason is that the current mind buff that is given takes so long to get and lasts for so little time,that it makes it really limited in use.
And of course, move the spotlight down to Novice Dancer so we can get this effects xp.
What would you do with dancing effects experience and how to you gain it, when you use or craft your effects? Crafting of effects would be pretty neat, maybe use less action and the better the item the more dramatic the effect ![]()
Moving mind buffs to the effects is not a bad idea except they'd have to change the action cost. Right now its barely worth the action cost to be firing these off. Also make it so we target the person we want to buff. I'd rather have control over my enhancements than just have it thrown out willy nilly like it is (and the healing is) currently.
Xp would be earned when you used the effects, not when crafted. (like survival xp from scouts). The action costs are good as they are imho. Instead of flourishing to get xp, you use the effect item.
Right now... you very very rarely see people using lights... they serve no purpose.
This is a pretty good idea. But,this would mean a dancer would have to go out and survey for these resources or spend what little amount of crdits they have on the resources. Plus, that would mean they would have to use 15 skill points so they can become a Master Dancer, if that was the route they wanted to go. I like exp idea, but not the idea of having to craft an item or buy a crafted item to earn the xp.
