Know how when in a cantina, med center, or salon you can use /open to examine what other people are wearing? Not any more they took it from us....

I know I liked to be able to see exactly what others were wearing and also who made thier cloths and any stat mods, I also encouraged others to /open me whenever they had questions on what I was wearing. Thought this was working as intended to enhance the social interaction part of the game, so we could kinda check each other out in social settings, not any more I guess

It was an exploit and invasion of privacy, and should have been gone a long time ago.

it resulted in the unfair obtaining of knowledge of opponents equiptment in certain cantina/pvp break moments. hard to explain unless youve been there, but just imagine that while you and an opposing faction member are healing in the cantina between rounds, that your opponent is looking at all your armor, its exact resists, your skill attachments, etc...

simply put, its an unfair edge.

and it wasnt meant to be an included game mechanic for the player base. i first ran into it when another player in a cantina proceeded to mock my equipment while telling me the stats of everything i had equipped. i asked how they did it, they wouldnt tell me, i talked to csr about it and they said it was a dev/csr command that some of the playerbase knew and used, but that they arent supposed to be. i then asked them to tell me the command so that we would be on an even playing field and they refused. they also said it was impossible to track the use of it, and so the person who used it on me could not be punished. they just said it was going to be fixed, which apparently it was. on a side note, the experience i just relayed occured in maybe january. guess it took em a while, but they finally fixed it.

It also left those you /opened wearing no clothes (or it did 3 months ago) until they changed outfits so I for one am glad it's gone too!! If someone wants to know my tailor they can ask.

First clue this wasn't working as intended was that it left people with no clothes on. Second clue is that while it worked in NPC buildings it didn't work in player owned buildings or outdoors.

It was a good idea to nerf this....Whenever I entered a cantina, I had to always take off all of my clothing with available sockets. There was an exploit where you could grief a player by planting crap attachments in their clothing with open sockets with /open.

I agree, this was available for too long.

I never liked that when it was only a Starport bug, when I was a master marksman and used to run with some awesome pistols and carbines, I always forgot that and was scared when griefers used to tell me my stats and all, worst all those times when I used to be in Cnet cantina dancing as one of the rare Non-AFK dancers and a lot of people asking me if I would sell them my enhanced exquisite leotard with Myoflex. I think that it adds more content to the game when you ask to the person what is he/she wearing and who's his/her tailor.
