Thread: Good luck entertainers

Seriously, some people on these forums need to take a step back and realize you are all getting what you asked for, try to let go of all the hate and move forward to make it a reality.
Im tired of offering constructive ideas to help old entertainers like me get back into the profession, current entertainers with the change and new entertainers getting interested when they are met with such rude responses.
Now, now hun...is this because I threatened you with an end to all lap dances?
Why are you giving up after this short kick of interest? I've told you to keep working at it in a few of your threads.

Im deleting the post I made in my galaxy forum about some new ideas correspondants proposed to make entertainer better and ATK more liked by combatants.
Funny thing is, Im getting just as much crap from the combatants as I am from the entertainers.
Im sure no one will miss me, but I hope some of you take my opinions and ideas into consideration when lobbying for your profession. Because I hope to one day return to that first profession I mastered, that one that made SWG fun enough to keep playing at first.
Maybe Ill master dancer again when I can handle all the attitude.
As of right now, its just not worth putting forth the effort to help make these profession fun for me to play again.
I enjoyed discussing the possibilities for the future development with some of you, keep me updated in those PM's youve been sendingabout the breaking news, I'll keep reading and keep supporting ATK in game.

I know I'm going to start getting myself into some trouble on these forums, but I'm going to try not to. I think there are a lot of people, despite our protests, who do want others to play the game the way they play it. The only "way" I ever wanted anyone to play was not afk, and nobody will ever convince me that that is a "way" to play. Beyond that, however, it's everybody's choice to do whatever they want. And, I think some people are oblivious to the fact that other people do choose to play a different way.
For example, I hear people allatime talk about the social part of our professions and preserving the Cantina. I like to be social and all sometimes, but that's really not why I care to play. So a lot of my opinions and ideas are skewed towards the business and performance aspects of our profession and away from the social part. The social is going to happen if it's going to happen, you can never force people to talk to you, nor should you. And, the people that want to do this are going to come to you regardless of whether or not people sell vids. I wrote a whole missive about this on another thread, however, so I won't do it again.
What I'm trying to say is, yes, I have seen where people have been rude to you here. I know the first thread that we went back and forth I wasn't liking you too much.
But, I have since gotten over that. I also think that some people on these forums are being way to restrictive when presenting their ideas of what our profession should be.
We just scored a major victory, yet I see some people who are not willing to budge even one bit to try to make things easier for the other players. Whether or not they feel that the other players need some consideration, and whether or not they feel that the other player's concerns are unfounded, is not the point. The point is, it never hurts to make a few concessions here and there for the sake of maintaining the peace. The truth is, you're right, we got what we wanted. We may not have gotten the end of the bots the best way possible, but it's going to happen if they implement this correctly. Is it really gonna hurt us that much if we make a few concessions?
Not only that, but I think people really aren't remembering what it used to be like. I'm going to say a few things here that aren't going to make a lot of people all that happy with me, but this is the reality of what it used to be like. Before buffbots were introduced, it *was* difficult to find a mind buff. It was *extremely* difficult to do so in fact. Not just during off peak hours, but practically all day long. I know. I am a combat player as well, and most (ie, over 50%) of the time I had to go without one or both mind buffs because I couldn't find one. You can only search around so much when it gets to the point where it's useless to search. This is part of the huge reasons I wish I could buff myself. I can't tell you how many times my entire hunting or raiding party got mind buffs but I couldn't because I couldn't find one. It sucked.
I also remember how I was *constantly* bombarded with /tells the moment I stepped off of that shuttle in both Coronet and Theed because I always wore my Master Dancer title. It was who I was, the profession I am the most proud of and most identify with. But, you know what, sometimes I wasn't interested in buffing. I got tired of having to tell people "I can't, I'm doing missions, or getting experience, or just passing through" or whatever the case may be. So, yes, I dropped my title sometimes. And, I know there are tons and tons of dancers and musicians who did the exact same thing. I saw them do it. The ones I knew who were online I had to send a private tell and ask if they would make an exception for me, their friend, since they were clearly not buffing the public at the time. I am guilty of dropping my title so I wouldn't have to buff, and I know some of you are too.
So, what am I trying to say here? I'm trying to say that when the buffbots are gone and the public comes to depend on us again for their buffing needs, are you willing to sacrifice every living, waking moment of your time to buff people? No. And, quite frankly, neither am I. Try to remember what it used to be like before the buffbots, and realize that in order to keep the peace, make the most people including ourselves happy, and give us the time to do other things besides buff, we need to start making some concessions. So, instead of fighting with each other about preserving the sanctity of the socialization in the Cantina, why can't we try to come up with some ways to help people out who need buffs so that we can preserve the sanctity of actually being able to *perform* in the Cantina.

I talked about this on this forum the last time I was a master dancer. I'm combat too so I can say this 100% true.

Cuts down on my tells alot. Sometimes it was the only way to get some peace during the times I wasn't buffing.

I will merely go back to my old practices. Both my clients and me were happy with the arrangement. It will allows me to buff and have time for my guild events and friends.

You know what i'm seing now though, there starting to come back out. Just the mention of the posibility of the afk and buffbot menace ending has real entertainers coming out of the woodwork againexcited about the prospect of getting their cantinas back. I'm seeing and meeting more and more of them every day Theed cantina was still predominently afk tonight but there was at least 15 live entertainers in there again putting on a good show. You know what the majority of the feedback was? It was "thanks for actualy being here" or "wow this is awesome"
