We do not have a Master Musician/Dancer/Chef in our city to place a Cantina. One of the Citizens found a holo and told him to be a Master Dancer. He said that he will place the Cantina in our city. What happens if he laters remove the dancer erases his dancer tree? What will happen to the Cantina?

Well we had a master dancer come in and place it, but when she tried to transfer the building to me it gave me a "you must be master dancer or musician to own this building".

My guess would be that if he drops it, he might still be bale to keep the building, but never place it again.

Either that or it will be checked in the weekly cycle and become inaccessible/go poof like the civic buildings...although thinking about that it probably wouldn't, since the player buildings remain even if the city dissappears.

I have placed a new cantina on dantooine and have aquestions. I notice that the marking on the map does not hold the name of the cantina but rather"[cityName] - Cantina". How do I change this to reflect the nameI choose for the cantina?

Your mayor needs to register your cantina on the map.

I'm considering joining a player city after mastering dancer and I have a few questions about placing a cantina. A few things to note about myself in this matter: 1) I'm currently a master entertainer, 2/0/4/0 dancer, 0/0/1/0 musician, 1/0/4/2 pistoleer, and will be dropping 2/0/2/0 medic as needed for dancing or music. 2) I want to master pistoleer. 3) My templateI'm shooting for to place the cantinawould be ME,MD, some musician and close to MP. 4) My overall template when everything is finalized shouldlook likeME, MP, 4/0/4/0 Dancer/Musician, even if I don't go MD to place a cantina.

My questions are pretty newbish but here goes:

Do I have to keep MD (or MM in case people were wondering)to keep the cantina?

Are player cantinas really worth having?

What are the advantages in owning a cantina as an MD (or MM)?

Thanks for your time.

The cantina isn't worth anything by itself. You'll get back what you put into it, put alot of effort(or have other players from the city helping)into organising player partys and events there and it will be great fun, without that it will probably just be another ghost cantina. Basically it is only worth it if you really want to organise a cantina and have the drive and/or help to get people coming to it.

At this time, a player can place a cantina while master of dancer, musician or chef and then drop the skill & keep the cantina. However, this is not as intended and may be changed. If you drop your skills after placing a cantina, you run the risk of losing your cantina in the future.

They are a fun toy for those of us who like running their own entertainment venue. If that idea is fun to you then it is worth having. The whole point is to have fun..right?

About 8 months ago I bought an already established cantina from a friend.I love it. I have had a wonderful time decorating, holding parties and just hanging out with friends there. It gives me a place to play by my rules..no afk'ers, no spam, no bs. Right now it is private and only those who I or the two trustedfriends I have placed on admin can add others to the entry list. This was done in reaction to people insisting on leaving their freakin bots in the middle of my stage. I'm really enjoying having a private place. Friends drop in for a visit or to jam a little. A few are using the stage to practice for a dance contest coming up in a couple of weeks. Once the bots are gone, I'll open up again. Until then, I own a private club where occasional parties are held.Anyone whowants access to these exclusive eventswill have to cater to the eccentricities of the owner.

Thanks for your time.

I love my cantina - but I also like sponsoring comedy nights and things like that. We have 2 cantinas in our city - Dakk runs the Blue Banana and that is the main hang out place, and I run the Risque Lounge. Dakks venues are mainly PG13 and Risque offers the PG17 venues to the city. I decorated it using costumes - rebel outfits, imp outfits, banners and flags that type of thing, have a dancers cage - private buffing booths. I also have a theater but that is more for looks since as far as stagewise you cant have a band with droppable instruments perform and you cant decorate the stage nor can you give anyone buffs from the stage.

Are you sure about this? I have not dropped the requiredskills on any of my characters who have cantinas, but it was my understanding that being able to do so was intended.

An alternative is to use a PA. You do not have to create a guild when you put up a PA. The PA takes the same number of lots, provides all the same functionality, is larger and in my opinion better laid out, does not require any specific skill set, and does not have to be in a city. A friend did this and it makes a great looking cantina. Either way you are going to need to promote it to get people there or it will be empty.
