Well, since the original thread was posted nearly a year ago, and it is indeed old and crusty
I suppose the question needs to be asked:
Do we need a new one?
Please let me know your thoughts and preferences. If the consensus is that an updated, "new and shiny" list is what we need, I'll start work on it.

Not once have I ever been contacted in-game for a buff by someone who saw my name from this list.
My opinion: no, we don't need a new one. /shrug

We're the only ones who even notice it is there...and we know how to find each other.

If anyone would like to maintain such a list, they certainly can. Here's a bit of my perspective surrounding the idea.
Originally, Panthu stopped maintaining the Master Dancer lists because they seemed to be something more needed on the individual galaxy forums. As a tool for allowing non-entertainers to find contact names for dancers willing and able to buff, as Fuschia has said,it had questionable success in the end. Oh well, we tried.
The other purpose for the list was to have contact names that newer up and coming entertainers could look to forexperienced dancerswilling to share tips and advice. And yeah, as Esh mentioned, we know how to find each other here on the boards, and can quickly refer newer entertainers to those that are known in the community. In that regard, certainly, entertainers in general have really become a true global, cross-server community.
(And I can say also, that no one ever contacted me for buffs or mentorship citing seeing my name on the previous Master Dancer list.)
Keeping such lists current and accurate is problematic. People are quick to add their name as they reach Master Dancer, but aren't as quick to come back and reportif they've dropped the skills or left the game. So it's difficult to tell who on the list is still active, short of seeing who's still actively posting on the boards. Once again, just relying on our community hereseems to do the trick.
All in all, it doesn't seem like maintaining such lists is serving a valuablepurpose. There may be other perspectives and testimonies though, so if someone feels that there is a great benefit to us or the rest of the SWG community that I'm not aware of, feel free to post your thoughts on the subject.

No, we don't need it, especially since I've asked more than once to be put on the list and still haven't gotten on it LOL!
