Is it just me or does it appear that the trend in the State of the Game Letter and the recent publish is towards MORE combat orientation in SWG and less and less of the Social and RP element??
Considering SWG is the firstMMORPG that really has non-combat options, I'm going to have to go with "it's just you" on this one. Sure, combat will always be a HUGE part of MMO's, but SWG players are incredibly lucky to have other options. That's why I play.
Involve ALL players in the war?? Gee then Dancers could become a nice easy target of opportunity for those seeking some quick kills to get warmed up..
Some players don't want to be involved, but for those that do, there are always ways. Even dancers, by only buffing their faction, can do their part, however small.
ID? Dead as a rusty dorrnail. Lol Dance? In the Spam Zombie pits??? LOL!!!
Hmm, ID dead as a doornail... oh, so THAT'S why they're giving us a mini-publish all to ourselves in a couple of weeks. Obviously you've never been an ID, or you wouldn't make such a ridiculous statement.
Had a 'discussion' with a Master Musician a day or two ago. HER definition of a 'Professional Entertainer' was to start playing, spam every 15 seconds begging for tips and go AFK for the rest of the day.. Is that what the Entertainment Profession has devolved to?
For some, unfortunately, yes. For REAL entertainers (like the folks who frequent this forum), the answer is a vehement NO. We abhor the buffbots, the spammers, and all the people who parade in and out of our beloved profession without any respect for the actual WORK it takes to be an entertainer.
Maybe I'm just going to the wrong places, but I see fewer and fewer real people out there every day and more rude and obscenely obnoxious 733t dude every day..
Sometimes you just have to know where to look. Yeah, these games are always gonna have the guys who want to be uber 1337 fighters and whatnot. But there's so much more than that.
Escuse ME. Sorry
I was asking a Question, not trying to upset anyone. Sorry... I wont bother again.
Hard to say girl..guess we'll see what happens in the next few publishes. I'd missed dancing ever since I dropped it last September so I've mastered a second time. There's been so many changes..mostly the apathy from other entertainers has astounded me. This time took me just over 2 weeks to master, where as last time took about 2 months..I suppose I have the afk'ers to thank for that (I'm trying not to let that make me feel cheap and dirty
).
It was kind of interesting to experience going from being the only atk player in group, to having other dancerslog in and stick around because there was someone to talk with, to getting tells from people asking when I'd be back in the cantina. I think the highlight was when I showed off a costume change with smoke bomb and got tells from other dancers asking how it was done.
I think there is hope for the entertainer professions. I remember well how the afk'ers effected the cantina atmosphere before hologrinding so I know that changing the jedi system is not going to save the world. But based upon the reaction I've gotten from players, entertainers & patrons alike, when they foundthatsomeone in a cantina was not onlyplaying the gamebut entertaining..showing interest in them.. well..maybe I'm being too hopeful..but I'm going to keep trying to keep things alive.
Good to see you're still around btw ![]()
BTW, I thought it was a fair topic to discuss and not likely just another troll.
Flawed !!!

Where have you been all the time ? ![]()
Sad things is, you are right. Compared to beta and early release, non-Combat classes don't get much support, except for those instances that combat classes are directly influenced by non-combateers.
And I'd love to have an active role in an active GCW. I am overt most of the time simply because I love the dark and brooding look of the Tie-Suit. I buff imperials for free. I die frequently because slitherhorn/SW1 is still buggy and not giving the uber-mind bleed it sounds like ![]()

Your original post sounded suspiciously like trolling to me. And anyone implying that ID's are useless is going to get the business end of my curling iron.
muaaahahaha

FlawedDiamond used to do a lot like Sultrina is doing- helping us all get the hang of our profession when the game went live. I know I learned most of my stuff from her.
Now imagine starting the game (I was just reminiscing yesterday with my boyfriend) We'll use me as an example.I started out, bright eyed and bushytailed in Mos Eisly. There I met Passy, Slu'ti, Er-Adi, and a few other entertainers who always frequented the cantina. (Passy gave me my first new outfit. I loved these girls to death.) After a while we sort of went our seperate ways. But we keep playing, finding new groups to hang out with, and chat with all day. Then let's pretend that for some reason I have to leave the game for a while. ...Perhaps this happens just a bit after October. Then perhaps I come back 4 months later to my dear beloved profession.....
And what do I find?
