Thread: /Invite macros

I was just using ingame mechanics. I used the macro system to /invite several known buffbots, and looped it. I know it's selfish, but did I deserve to be called a CU|\|T? I don't think so.

I wonder if they still like the macro system?

Deila, can you tell me a bit about getting into LIVE? Is it still active? I never see you on Ahazi anymore, I'm assuming you're using your TC character? Get in touch with me please

I'll send you the ingame mail with info about LIVE Entertainment.

I've been in Ahazi just about every day. You probably haven't seen me around because while you've been contacting bots as your method of helping the buffbot situation (which I think is a good idea), I've been in Mos Eisley for about the last week trying to inspire the next generation of entertainers that it's fun to be ATK. I had these fears that if all new entertainers showed up in Eisley and all they saw were AFKers, they'd just think that's what we were supposed to be doing... and that could be very, very bad for the future hope of our professions.

Having an experienced entertainer there to show them the ropes and spark some fun seems to be working to a large degree, both for the new dancers and musicians - adding bandfill and mandoviol to their SW1 performance makes all the difference in thesound! I picked up some wood and steel, and make new instruments as needed for any ATK entertainers there. And one night our beloved LIVE master tailor Orocici came down and made new outfits for any ATK entertainer there as well, with all costs covered by myself.

You keep working the end product of unattendedness, and I'll keep trying to catch it at the beginning.

Seems to me that you were just using the ingame system... it's perfectly allowable by SOE, right?

Ummm.. after reading your message, then reflecting on what occured to me in the past, I'd have to say I probably would have tried to come up with a few, more harsher, words. I had that occur to me, where some inconsiderate individual was spamming invites to me. AFK doesn't necessarily mean AFK sometimes, as I was ATK, talking to guildies and taking care of in game business. For 20 minutes the individual in question was spamming invites although I had askedhim to stop, even while the AFK label was removed. But he added me to his ignore list. Many other players in the game also tried to talk to him to no avail. Eventually I had to addhim to the ignore list and me and multiple other players filed complaints against him... I haven't seen him online for quite a while although I don't think SOE actually did anything to his account. But he was added to numerous ignore lists and banned from a few cities because of his actions that night.

I think you know exactly what you were doing... and the resulting actions, comments and opinions of other players were probably well deserved.

I actually have no idea who you are....

Talking to the same person? I've never put anybody on ignore, then spammed an invitation. And I've only spammed an invitation to one player that was actually ATK to prove the point that recursive macros were not fun.

If you ARE talking about me (what's the bot name?), no, I wasn't approached by CS for any reason whatsoever.

(Necroposts are fun!)

{Edit: Then again, you may not be talking about me.}

No, I'm not talking about you... I hope. This occured on the Ahazi server. By ATK while AFK, I mean I was ATK chatting in guild chat, and doing some in game business through /tells, etc...but the AFK label was up so I didn't interrupted while doing the chat thing. The buff-bots name is Syzzlee Boom-Boom and dances in the Coronet Cantina.

After it all happened I approached the player in game a few days later with my alt... he told me he was having a bad day that day and it was a mistake. Still, given the annoyance that it caused for me, I can't take his name off the ignore list just in case it occurs again.

I haven't gone so far as to create a macro (although its not a bad idea). Live dancers have pretty much chased most buffbots from the Theed Cantina on Kauri.

They set up tents and houses just out of town with an access fee which is fine with me, I just hate it when they spam in planet and auction chats about themselves. I know these characters exist, I know I cannot convince their owners to remove their second account that they decide to pay for. I'm fine with them telling their friends, guildees and/or city members of their services. Its when they shout and fill other chats losing my potential characters that I get in a tizzy.

Anywho... last week I captured a buffbot in Theed standing at the entrance. I know for a fact that this wasn't an atk dancer with a macro as her text said something along the lines of "I'm AFK buffing for tips. 7k for mind buff watch me for 8 minutes!Autoinvite is on, do not forget to disband!!!" So /invite and boom she's in my group helping the little dancers gain more exp rather than polluting the air with her foul less than great buffs. (I only charge 3k, do 125% buffs and only take about 3 min to apply )

About an hour later...

"W.T.F. Y U INVITE ME TO GROUP!"

*bot leaves your group*

/invite bot

*bot joins group*

"OMG I TOLD YOU NOT INVITE ME"

*bot leaves your group*

I wait about 5 minutes...

/invite bot

*bot joins group*

About45 minutes later...

*bot leaves your group*

/invite bot

*bot declines your invitation*

bot tells you: "Why do you keep inviting me?"

/t bot "Oh I'm sorry I saw you say something about autojoin and thought you wanted a group. My bad"

I wait about 5 minutes

/invite bot

*bot is out of group range*

ah yes she gave up and left theTheed Cantina

No I'm not against competition. I've been accused ofsuch and that's not the case.I've grouped with other buffing dancers before, I've passed out my buffing macro to dancers and musicians alike. I'm actually for more folks like me to appear.I'm against automated impersonalized service such as this.

Nice job Goldy!

I came into the SWG universe as an entertainer

I will use a respec and become an entertainer again,
pull out my last pet from my creature handler days
and dance in an empty cantina in Mos Espa and disconnect from the game forever.
