has anyone else done this before? i got my master dancer title a few days ago and am starting to get the hang of doing buffs "live buffs" and another master dancer i knew came into the cantina and wanted a buff, 4minutes past, i said stop watching the buff is done, and then it occured to both of us...I never /setperform to buff her.
this is embarrassing as hell, she said it was ok and was ok with me redoing it, but has anyone else done this before?

God yes.
There's also been times when I've /setperform but the buff didn't stick, or the other person was /watching me and /listening to someone else, causing the buff not to stick.
Right after the changes to the buff timers, I failed like 10 buffs in a row due to the fact I was still only /flourishing every 30 seconds and the timer had been lengthened. I had to migrate my stats to allow myself to buff again.
Anyways, accidents happen. Every Master Dancer has at least a couple of horror stories of a buff gone wrong.

Yeah, I do this here and there.
I think both Musicians and Dancers are sorely overdue for a buffing UI. It would resolved a lot of issues with failed buffs.
I'd also like the little white thing that drops down over a Doctor's patient when they're getting healed to be applied to us. Maybe with a green hue, since playing music costs us Action (my theory is the Doc white thingie is a blue hue because it costs the Doc Mind...dunno). This way, when people run into the cantina, they won't constantly have to yell, "anyone buffing?" Sometimes you are, and are kind of busy, but don't respond in time and the person runs out 1 minute later all annoyed.
The white symbols would show them who was actively buffing - like how you know a Doc is buffing when you see those fall over their patients.

well luckly the non-sticky buff victim came back for more later on, and it was a success, if its a non sticking buff due to our buggy buffing issues then they'll have to suck it up and watch longer lol. like the idea of a UI too, but im sure its been discussed many times so i'll just cross my fingers and wait pantiently for some love to us.

Horrible thing about Musicians is that if the buff "fails" a buff customer easily can run off with a free buff.
Dancers see the Mind bar jump. So you KNOW the buff took effect.
Musicians can very easily be told "got nothing" and have to pay money back, without any way of knowing for certain whether the buff worked.
Musicians more than anything need some way of definitively knowing their buffs worked.
But yeah, keep your fingers crossed. Maybe sometime in the next year or 2 we'll get considered for a buffing interface change.
Once Jedis rule the galaxies, that is.

I've considered adding a /tellself line in my buff timer macro that says something along the lines of "don't forget the /setp"
but occassionally I also forget to hit the timer button so...well.. Yep, we've all done it. Like everyone elseI look forward to a time when we have a better interface. I don't expect it to happen soon but it sure would be nice.
