I'm at a problem with my character. Master Dancer/Master Chef. Thing is I have not found much use/need for the Master Dancer. My group of friends do not call apon the character skills, I too with my alts do not bother with getting mind buffs.

I try to go to low traphic areas on Lowca. Hope to be of a valued service. But I think players have just come use to just traveling to Theed and Cornet and using the AFK players. I have no problems with the AFK players. I loved their existance when I first started out with my brawler and when I was online at 3 am central time.

My quesition before I totaly start surrendering my Dancing Skills (down to 0 4 0 4). Is there merit to hold on to the profession? Is there something I am doing wrong with the character that it is not that appealing?

Sounds like it's just not your cup o tea, to be honest.

Certainly there are a lot of problems with the profession, but in the end it was designed to be attractive to social players. It sounds like you are just not that type of player, in which case you shouldn't feel bad about untraining and finding something you do enjoy.

if you need to feel "important" in the community dance is probably not the right profession for you. most people that have enjoyed dancer for the long haul are in it almost totally for the socializing/flirting/making friends/helping newbies etc., and don't care if they play for 4 or 5 hours strait and never heal or buff anyone. Good luck in your endeavors!

But not all of us. I tend to be not of the same mold as most entertainers sometimes. But, I do not flirt, and socializing is actually not at the top of my priority list. I do, however, enjoy making friends and helping newbies. But, the real reason I picked up dancing was because I wanted to dance. In my mind, you can socialize and flirt no matter what you are. You don't need to be an entertainer to do that.

I very much long for a purpose within the game as a dancer. I dance primarily because I enjoy dancing. When I tried to give up my dancing skills because of their lack of usefulness, I couldn't do it. And, it had nothing to do with me no longer being able to flirt. It had everything to do with me not being able to have all the dances. But, like the original poster, I am very frustrated that people don't seem to "need" or "want" me as a dancer.

So, I am definitely not going to tell the original poster that dancing doesn't sound like it's for him, especially because I kind of feel the same way. What I will tell him though, is that he has to weigh all the pros and cons of having dancer and not having dancer, and then make a decision on what will give him the most enjoyment from the game. If not being useful overpowers your sense of not being able to dance, then drop it. If you simply enjoy dancing too much to give it up despite its uselessness, then keep it.
