I was learning novice dancer the other day in coronet and i passed by the theater manager. i talked to her and went on to do the audition on stage. there are judges there that tell you things to do and there is one command i cant figure out. the judge said to switch styles and still do Basic or something like that but i didnt get it.... can anyone help with this?

the command is /changedance basic (/changedance dancename) you can switch between dances without stoping.

/changed works too. Just add the dance name (correctly spelled).

I have a macro I made that just does /changed(this calls a pop-up window that lists all the dances that I can currently do) so I don't have to do so much typing.

I really do not recommend to shorten commands inside a macro.
You never know what is added to the game at one point and suddenly your shortend version does something else. Take the time and write the full command in the macro, just takes about 5 seconds longer.

I remember short after the glowies were introduced everyone was complaining that the /heal macros were not working anymore.
It turned out that once the old man visits you, you see all the Jedi slash commands, and /heal was suddenly not short for /healdamage (heals you with a stimpack) but for /healall, a Jedi-heal, which of course noone could use at that point.
People who used /healdamage in their macros (like me) wondered why everyone was complaining since the macros were still working fine

leading on from this - i am on part 2 where you entertain the audience, the theatre manager says you can talk to the audience first and then you have to get on stage in time and start dancing. I failed the first time because i got excited about people actually being sat in the chairs in the theatre and wasnt ready lol (doh)

BUT second time i goback - chat to some of the audience - only one person mentioned they would like to see basic - the rest moaned about wookies and havign a hard day at work

My musician friend says just dance and flourish a lot (he has done his musician quest) - so i start on basic and flourish my boosom off, the audience are aparently *unsatisfied* so i up to popular, lyrical and then exotic 4 out of desperation :/ i cant seem to get them over * neutral* safisfaction and i failed again I flourished lots and did some flashy lights too, can anyone suggest anything?

Well, first off, the flashy lights are just a waste of action... the audience does not care about those at all. Second, having an uncommunicative audience is the biggest complaint that I have had doing this quest. All I can say about that is to wait and hope for a better audience next time.

I had my best luck doing the Theater Manager Quests at Novice Dancer/Musician because with fewer dances/songs to chose from, the greater the chance of picking the one(s) the audiance likes the most. I got my one and only Very Satisfied rating from an audience while doing the quest at Novice Musician and the times that I have done it at Novice Dancer are the only times that I have had no failures at all (most of my Master Dancers that did this quest failed at least once).

My advice, if they tell you that they like a certain flourish/dance do that the most. Flourish your hiny off and do a /changedance at least once aftereach feed-back... at least until you get a Satisfied rating. Myself, once I do get a Satisfied rating, I stop changing the dance and just flourish away.

After 3 fails (omg im a crap dancer! ) I got my beloved to give me a hand, he ran round canvessing the audience whilstI shaked my booty.

We got no input as to what dance they wanted this time only that they wanted to see flourish 1 !

So i just did flourish 1, 2, 3, and then changed to a differentdance constantly.

Cant wait for the last part of the quest
