Thread: *POLL* moving my dancer to a new server yes or no?

Ladies and gentlemen of the Dancer community, I really need your advice!
I have been a dancer on Kauri since day 1. I love dance. Very very much. I am also an avid role-player. I love RP. Very very much. The problem is, RP is all but dead on Kauri. The last few times I had the heart to login on Kauri Theed Cantina was overrun with l337 d00ds and 13 year olds. I have no where to dance anymore. Arashi Ise has so much of me in her, but i never play that character anymore. 
Tarquinas - home of the character I play ALL THE TIME! Sakura Ikari - total RP template - Master Tailor, a lil merchant, a lil smuggler (shhh! don't tell) a lil pistoleer. She has a rich full life, gets to RP all the time, has great friends. I love Tarquinas. It is THE BEST server if you are an avid Roleplayer. The guild I am in on Tarq is mostly all crafters and ENTERTAINERS! Real ones! Theed Cantina is adult, is RP, and is ATK! It's awesome. But Sakura is NOT a dancer. It would really mess up her RP - she doesn't like being the center of attention. Doesn't like being the star. So my husband came up with the idea of buying another account and having Arashi moved to Tarq. I know - you ask why not grind a new character? Because I am such an avid roleplayer - it's been feeling like Arashi is dying. I don't want another dancer. I want to play Arashi.
Pros & Cons:
Pros:
be a dancer on a server with a great entertainer community and a great RP community
get to play the profession that i BOUGHT this game specifically to play
have fun
Sakura is a tailor so all of Arashi's clothes are easily replaceable (thank goodness!)
Cons:
lose my cantina and the hours and hours of work i put into it (not to mention irreplacable items)
make things difficult on my friends, having to now interact with me in a different way when I play this character
takes time away from the wonderful personal relationships that Sakura has developed
abandon a server I've been on since day 1
insult the few people left in my guild on Kauri by abandoning them
i want honest opinions and advice on what you all think about transfereing a character to a new server. Please NO FLAMES! and please DO NOT try to talk me into coming to YOUR sever. *IF* i move arashi, it would only be to Tarquinas.

Else loves Sakura. Don't make me delete Kallie just to make a character to play while Arashi is on! /pout
Here is some more stuff for your pro list I guess... I can make cantina's so there is no cost in replacing the building. The items... Well.. You know I'd do everything I could to help you remake the cantina as acurately as possible.
I really wish Sakura could just relearn a little dance... I know I know... It has to be some other character that I'd have to make my alt character to interact with... *sigh*

And Sakura loves Else. Dearly.
Delete Kallie? nah... you wouldn't need to delete Kallie. All that fighting she does, she needs someone to heal her 
but to be honest, i will still play Sakura 90% of the time. She has a rich full storyline on Tarquinas and above all that is what I enjoy the most. But I would love to once in a while actually PERFORM, not just dance, but perform in a gig with the Flairs or something. That would be fun.
This decision is really hard on you and I both. That's why I wanted some other opinions. But yours andmy husband'swill always be the most important.

I honestly didn't need an alt character at all. I just wanteda login for the forums since *my* account's login belongs to my ex and the account I used to post under was given back it its owner as well
I only made Kallie the character she is because I wanted a character Haldir would feel comfortable doing shooty stuff with while you were off at work or whatever. If you made a dancer character I'd need a second dancer character to playwhile she was online instead since Else would never leave Sakura.. Damn that role play!!!!

Obviously a hard decision but Sounds like you feel a lot more at home on Tarq so in your shoes I'd move. I'm sure your remaining friends will understand.
It's not easy but ultimatly in the experience I've seen (I've moved char's and seen people move chars, at least one of whom left behind a VERY nice cantina) people don't regret moving their chars.

I'm in the other camp. I've recreated my main professions twice, so that's doing the same thing three times. Still I couldn't bear to move my main, even though I don't logon particularly often. It's just nice to be able to pop on occasionally.
Don't think of it as regrinding a profession - think of it as a chance to make friends as you advance. When you see a new master dancer in the cantina you think to yourself "where did SHE come from?" It may be better RP-wise to advance your character instead of appearing out of nowhere.

I'm with Jess on this one. Besides saving money, you'll get the enjoyment of the trip to the top. And you're in the cantina enough anyway. 
However, that might interfere with your desire to play Sak most of the time.

yeah that is the #1 problem
#2 with a new character is how attached i am to Arashi - she is the first character I created... my hubby knew how excited i was when we got this game and back then we only had 1 pc and he actually let me make my character FIRST before he got to touch the computer. I spent 45 minutes (no exaggeration - ask haldir) on the character creation screen alone. And i came up with her background story that day and it has never changed. But you are right about one thing Fuschia - I am in the cantina all the time! I love that place!

Change keeps the game alive i found
making a new alt to toy with, moving server, moving city, moving planet, whatever, every time i get real bored i change something and im happy again
Moving from Valcyn to Europe-Farstar has been by far the best choice i made in SWG however, sometimes you just feel at home on a server you try out, you click with some people instantly and they got you forever

Why not have an alter-Arashi-ego with your new account on Tarquinas? In other words, just make a new toon that looks just like the old Arashi, same name, same everything. Then you're not giving anything up or letting anyone down. Maybe you could spin it as, Arashi in an alternate universe.

bah... i still haven't decided what I'm doing....
A) - do nothing and not dance anymore. honestly would be ok with that about 85% of the time, as I really enjoy playing on Sakura for all the fun RP on Tarq and all my wonderful friends like my best friend Else and my good buddy Fuschia. But I feel guilty posting on the dancer forums and not dancin lol.
B) - Move Arashi - lose a cantina, tick off a few people on kauri, gain a dancer on a server that is great for entertainer. Only play her on very rare occasions since she is a finished template, and doesn't have any romantic relations with anyone on Tarq.
C) - Make a new character - was thinking Dancer/Fencer, since the one of the other characters i have on kauri that i never play is a master fencer. This way I could hang out with my fighting friends when they do whatever it is combat characters do that is supposedly so much fun 
downside - having to earn skills from scratch means alot less time to play on Sakura which would totally suck.
