Some Q & A's for the inspiration buffs...
Inspirations aren't meant to be the sole replacement for the performer’s old abilities,in fact it's really more for the CU as a whole than performers specifically. The performer’s replacement abilities are still being discussed, but as answered in question 1, we want to give an interactive method for performers to grant buffs and bonuses. The discussed methods so far have been more along the lines of the performer playing a game, and the better they play the game, the better buffs their audience gets. The elite performers would get the lion's share of these new abilities, though some of the minor ones might be available to entertainers. I personally don't think any windowed system fits with performers, when I did it for IDers it was much more necessary because of the customer approval aspect, but for performers it really needs to be fluid and more interactive, and not restrict the performer's creative expression. On the issue of AFK performers we're really looking to a carrot vs whip approach. We'd rather reward the ATK performer with better abilities that can only be achieved through active participation (resulting in an interesting performance, of course) rather than punishing or eradicating the AFK performer (who, in the end will provide inferior but useful services).
1. What is being done to insure that Buff Bots will not take over the cantinas again?
For now, nothing. Much like the CU as a whole, the Inspiration buff is a foundational system. We want inspirations to be accessible by anyone at any time. During the development of inspirations we discussed how to reward ATK (at the keyboard) performers above and beyond inspirations. The advanced system will grant the audience even better rewards/buffs by a system that requires focused and reactive performer participation. Any further additions are still in development, so I cannot give any details but performer suggestions are always welcome.
2. 10% doesnet seem like much of a bonus, shouldn’t we get something more substantial?
You’re right, 10% is not a major buff. It was meant to be that way. This is your foundational, most basic ability. The idea is that performers with sufficient skill and involving sufficient participation by the player be able to grant better, more desired buffs and bonuses than these
3. Why do novice entertainers get to offer the same service as a master elite?
Well, they take much longer in application. As much as 6 minutes to give a 3 hour buff, while an elite master can do the same in as little as 60 seconds. The real draw for the elites will come from future abilities.
These are subject to change due to testing!
Novice Entertainer
5m/pulse (or 6 minutes to max buff)
Master Entertainer
10m/pulse (or 3 minutes to max buff)
Novice Elite
20m/pulse (or 90 seconds to max buff)
Master Elite
30m/pulse (or 60 seconds to max buff)
4. Will Dancer and Musician Buffs be the same?
Yes, there is only one inspiration buff and it is applied by all types of performers.
5. Will getting an inspiration from both a Master Dancer and a Master Musician give any bonus?
Yes. Having skill in both disciplines will increase the amount of buff time applied at each pulse. If you are entertaining as a dancer and have skill in musician, your skill in musician will count towards the buff application, but only up to your max skill in dancing.
6. Will current skill mod items work?
Inspirations will be using the entertainer healing experience and skill mod items, so all current skill mod items will apply. Skill mod items only for the current type of performance will apply. If you are dancing and wearing a musician skill mod item, it will not have any effect.
7. Can we still /denyservice?
Yes.
8. Is grouping required?
No. This is meant to be your most basic ability, available to the players at all times. As such, it does not need attending by you. It happens automatically when someone watches or listens to you, just as mind wound healing works on live.
9. Where can I get inspiration?
Anywhere you can heal mind wounds in live.
10. Can we still cure Battle Fatigue.
Current Battle Fatigue functionality is not affected by this system.
11. Will the audience know they are getting a buff?
As long as the buff is still increasing and not maxed, the audience members will get a messege every ten seconds telling them how much buff time they have accumulated. Yes, this will be very spammy. We would appreciate feedback on a good level of information vs. spam for this issue. We will trim this somewhat after testing according to audience and performer feedback.

Oh joy. I hate to jump on the other side. I've tried to be optimistic. Hooray for hypocracy in the Dev ranks.
