Has anyone else had problems dropping a cantina? I've checked every inch of my city and I cannot find anywhere that will let me build the cantina. Is this a common problem, or does the location of my city just stink? Thanks in advance!

Aye, zoning rights can help
But on a more serious note - whereis your city? What is the terrain like? Is it possible there are some houses infringing on the very border of where the cantina might be ideally placed? My experience - I was quite fortunate when placing my cantina in my city on Lok, as the much of the ground there is very flat, and we have a city structure plan that we strictly adhere to. However, there were a few choice locations that we did like, but couldn't fit as there was a "no building zone" message regardless of whether I had zoning rights or not. Also, check out whether or not there are house borders that are in the way, as you might need to get the person to squish over a little bit, if that's possibe.
My advice is to have a good chat to your mayor and keep trying to find a space. If possible, try and keep your cantina near the main hub of activity for your city, so its easily accessible by people, and if possible - on as flat a surface as ye can
Let us know how ye go, and good luck

Hmm. I've not read of any placement problems for cantinas within player cities. Not if you have the lots for it, zoning is granted and your city has the rank to support a cantina. And you are either a Master Musician, Dancer or Chef.
The only other issues could be terrain or a nearby garden or other civic structure with a huge footprint.

How old is your city? The city rank being below 2 is the only problem that could be preventing your placement that occurs to me from the parameters you've given.

That and as previously stated - are you a master dancer, master musician or master chef? If not, you need to find someone who is and has the lots availableas they are the only ones who can place a cantina.

I have zoning rights, so thats not the issue. The city is on Dantooine and is pretty level and i just dropped a guild hall and a house but the cantina is all red whenever I try to drop it. Even in a flat open space within the city limits the cantina never turned green so I couldn't drop it. I was just wondering if this is a common problem? And before you ask, I have all of my lots left because I transferred the other structures to my alt.
