The data I posted in the closing of the original thread is incorrect. Here is how the post should read.

XP Poll Result

The questions were:

1. Are you in favor of reducing the Dancing Experience requirement for mastering Dancer? If yes, please state what percentage of the current value you would consider an appropriate reduction.

2. Are you in favor of reducing the Entertainer Healing Experience requirement for mastering Dancer? If yes, please state what percentage of the current value you would consider an appropriate reduction.

27 players participated in the poll. 1 of the 27 commented but abstained from voting.

With 26 voting, the results are as follows:

1. yes - 17 (66%)
no - 9 (34%)

2. yes - 22 (81%)
no - 4 (19%)

Of the players voting yes and offering a suggested percentage of current value, the average suggestions were:

1. 51.4%

2. 26.9%

Based upon the results of this poll, one could say the popular suggested requirements would be:

Dance XP: 612,500 (50% of current value)

Entertainer Healing XP: 150,000 (25% of current value)

Nice work Esh.

Interesting to see how the Ent Heal xp works out with the estimated % cut - looking at it now, 150k kinda seems a lil low as a total amount of EH xp, evenwhen BF is looking to be tight after the CU. But interesting numbers, its good to see the stats like that - gives a good idea of how things might change and what the implications might be when our suggestions are weighed/quantified like that. Good stuff

Problem with reducing EH xp costs is it makes power leveling people via cloning or ship destruction real easy, but not reducing it makes it next to impossible for somebody not PLed to level in a reasonable time... Damned if you do damned if you don't

I don't know, I personally would much rather stop caring about holding back "power levelers" and start rewarding normal Social players. The current system does reward bots and afkers, which are two methods used by power levelers, not normal Social players.

The current system makes afking/botting seem (a) smarter and (b) nicer than actually playing the prof with its Social goal, being there in game with people socializing.

So, yeah, lowering XP requirements is a decent way to start making AFK leveling look not so much "smarter." An even better system would be some kind of set progression with periods of training being offered, much like the Village Phases (but hopefully our phases would be shorter running, lol... let's not lose our minds here, we are talking about dancing), but I just don't see that happening right this sec.

I agree with Panthu here. See, I put therepercussions ofbotting and afk into two seperate categories.

The first category simply has to do with the mentality of getting to the end as quickly as possible. Providing these afk'ers don't bot or spam, it is not directly affecting my enjoyment of the game. They may annoy me a little, and I may look down on them, but it's something I can ignore. I don't care how fast someone gets somewhere. And, my gameplay experience isn't hindered in the least by people who do this. And, under this situation, I do not believe that my gameplay should be made to suffer just because a power gamer will gain advantages from it. Let them get to the top in one day if that's what they want. I could care less. I'll take my time doing it and enjoying it without being made to suffer because the dancing experience requirements are so unbalanced with how the game has changed. It's the same reason why I don't want to take away the ability to gain Force Sensitive experience while dancing. So someone else afk's dancing 24/7 to get to their Jedi quicker. So what. Doesn't affect me if they aren't botting or spamming.

The second category has to do with things that do directly impact my gameplay experience. This includes spamming, of course, as well as botting. We've heard lots of examples on these forums about how spamming and botting greatly hinders the enjoyment of the live player's game. How we can't make any money from our skills, and how the entire Cantina environment is no longer pleasant because of screen scroll. I don't have to repeat all the arguments here. These things I am willing to sacrifice live benefits in order to curb these activities, like the botting. While I like the idea of inspiration buffs, at first I didn't even want them because it wouldn't do us any good whatsoever. The bots would again corner the market and spam that they're giving them away. It would not help us at all, so I didn't see the point in bothering to add content for entertainers when that content will be rendered useless by afk'ers and bots. In fact, the only reason I'm going along with this right now is because there is a promise of more to come that rewards ATK performers. If I hadn't heard this from a dev's mouth, I'd still be cranky and fighting for us to not even bother having any skills. I'd rather dancer's have no skills than skills that don't help us, but help the bots.

So, anyway...that's where I stand, and that's how I see the differences in consequences when deciding whether I want us to have something beneficial or not.

I actually stand pretty much right where Drygo does on this issue. My view of the grinders is that the faster they get their exp, the sooner they leave the cantina so just those who wanna be there will be there.

If they stick around as buffbots, spambots, or any combination thereofis when I have an issue.

Dantooine is full to the gills of people grinding combat stuff, and a lot of them use macros to do it and if it were able to be done totally AFK they would. The difference is they have 10 planets to choose from for grind space, entertainer grinders have a few choice cantinas.

Get those who wanna be masters for the sake of the prof to their destination faster and those who are just grinding out the door that much sooner, everybody wins.
