I like the props- they are something fun and novel for the day, maybe even the week. But then i am sure the novelty will wear off. Whats left then? At least when we were able to give useful buffs there was a reason for us to be in the game. When BF actually meant something we were important to the game as a whole. Slowly that importance has been taken away.

Someone posted a comment about how we are naturally social people. This has been my expeience as well. But it seems like SOE has taken advantage of that part of our personality- our love to socialize with others, and used it to undervalue us. We will keep coming back ot the game to play and be social no matter how bad our profession is. We will still pay our subscription fee.

Perhaos SOE could have given us something of value in the game- like the new buffs. Or even crafting exp for making our props- etc....

This was an opportunity for SOE to step up and make changes in the game that would improve our profession and in game possibilities. Instead it seems as though the development team took a step back and gave us mediocrity wrapped in a novel sparkly ribbon.

Don't apologize for stating your feelings.

The truth is that I used to be able to jump into any well traveled venue, dance, and leave with a lot of nice credits if I worked at it. I was good at that game. But now? I don't even know how to play my profession.

Dancing in formation gossiping in /gc is cute, but it is hardly fulfilling. I want a career, and a reason to see this as a vocation that requires technique and skill.

I want an audience. A BIG audience. An audience that comes into the cantinas often, and with some regularity. I don't want to be "protected" from combat folk. I can protect myself like I always have.

I do not want dance to beabout setting a macro and "hanging out." That gets old...fast.

thats true.. I gotta agree there too.. while it is fun to chat and mess around(right cadesa hehe) we also need a way to make cash...

and not by havin to rely on another prof for makin it.. thank you very much..

If Money is what you are after, there are Entertainer Mission Terminals.

(not to belittle the whole point, Im just saying that for cold hard cash, a mission terminals works jsut as well)

and BTW it is not only the credits issue.. I enjoy bein social and having fun..but I'd also like to be useful.. but oh well

In ten minutes, in a crowded venue, I could make much, much more than 2400 credits.

Frankly, the mission terminals really do not care if a dancer talks to patrons, or gabs on /gc. So I would say that if one's only ambition is to gab on /gc or /ent, then entertainer terminal money can be a good thing.

But what I enjoyed about the old system was that I could make big credits (upwards of 100,000 at times), if I did my best to make the wait to clear their 1000BF amusing and fun.

Me too, I took up dancing and Musician first because I thouthg it was so cool to be able to do something other then combat all the time.. then I found out we could heal and Buff and that was even more insentive to play one. I'm holding my judgement on all this till the new insperations come out..

I love the social aspect of dancer and all and will not be leaving

I have to agree with you on the wait and see deal.. hopefully they will do somehting with our buffs and whatnot.. I swear I read somethin about that in another thread

so again I am sorry if I pissed anyone off and seemed like I was baiting anyone..

I wasn't. just annoyed with the patch a bit.. but you have a point wait it out and whatnot

Oh wait.. No I was not speaking directly of you. when I was listing those things. I was speaking in General terms.. because there have been people who posted posts that were nothing but attempts to start flame wars and stuff

I apoligize for not making that clear.

I suppose that I have alittle more patients with thes Issue because I have only been playing for 9 months, where as others have been playing alot longer and seen more done to the entertainer profession then I have.

not a problem at all.. I was just frustrated and still am partially.. I've calmed down a bit.. still think ents have been screwed a bit.. but I won't post worthless crap that causes trouble lol.. I swear
