This is a thread about same old same old.... " I need my recursive macros to socialize... but hey, an AFK entertainer never hurt anyone anyway did it?" (yes, she did say that.)

Bla bla bla. Skip those parts, we've all heard it.

The interesting thing is the parts from the BRAWLER CORR, who have at least tested it (if only shortly).

Here are his replies:

You can still write a macro for dancing/music flourishes. You just have to press the right mouse button to restart it. What is the problem with that. So what, you still have to push 1 button every what 10 minutes if you make a long one. Maybe even 30 or 40 minutes. You can socialize alot in 10 minutes, imagine how much more in 30 or 40.

most of the /commands still work. Its the /ui action toolbarSlot?? and the /macro name commands that don't work like they used to. All those commands do now is put that toolbar slot item or that macro in the right click area.

/ui action defaultButton seemed to work fine, but it might change.

I can write a garden variety macro, but have never tried to make anything more elaborate... So I hope everyone with more macro-alias savvy than me will get right on testing this when the TCs come up!

Do we need to right-click the mouse to restart a macro now? For.... real?

While I like recursive macros going away... how will this affect changing clothes?
I don't use macros for that, but know a lot who do. I still have 2 toolbars full of clothes and hit the hotkeys when I want ot change.

Now I have to:
1) Press hotkey for pants
2) Press right mouse button
3) Press hotkey for shirt
4) Press right mouse button
5) Press hotkey for boots
6) Press right mouse button
7) Press hotkey for gloves
8) Press right mouse button

?

I'm on TC6 right now. I've tested both aliases and macros and they appear to be working same as before. Recursive macros are still working as well.

I just want to know why I keep hoping. And as someone pointed out... now you seem to auto-level too.

But all the buffs are active, right? Right? impossible to macro?
Anyone want to sell me a bridge? Beach front property? Please?

I find the interface VERY difficult to use for hand-flourishing and either type /flo 2 etc or do a macro just because I hate doing 1, right click, 2, right click. I expressed to the devs my concern that being afk is easier than performing atk.

I agree with n'Jessi. This system makes macro-ing not just a useful tool but almost a complete neccessity. hitting flourish, right click, wait for flourish to finish, next flourish, right click, etc is a pain and a half. If you were doing a performance and timing your flos it would take your entire attention to make things work right. I think this system encourages AFK.

However there appears to be no benefit to being afk as none of the inspirations are applying unless I do activate an inspiration. No passive buff. At least not on TC6.

however a patron came in and had to ask me for a general buff. He said he just watched me and it was no good. The buff was not applied until I actually typed/inspire and selected General Inspiration from the list.

Pain in the butt thing was you had you have your mouse over him when typing /inspire which was not easy with all my gyrating the frankenstein dance. /inspire name works too.

It is just one more example of how little they really care if the current subscribers like the changes or not. This is about getting the game like every other game and stealing new customers from them.

I don't see a long future for me anymore.

This is a guide to resetting the new keymap to the old classic one.

If nothing else, you can use it to set the F-keys to work as before.

I fail to see however why they don't have the option of choosing the classic keymap - even if it did require a 5 button mouse if you wanted to have the old map. (apparently, you can't remove the right click specials function from button 2 or... something)
