The patch notes said you get to respec based on your CL. Well as a dancer I dont have a CL. Are sticking me with dancer and letting eveyone else respec?

No, you get to respec up to nine times.

Currently, the level you can respec to is based on your current skill point useage. If you are maxed out with two elite master's, plus a novice elite then youcan respec to max (cl 80) level of any of the new professions.

This assumes the respec will happen along the lines as it does now.

Note simply using up all your skill points on "non-elte" professions will not get you to a make level. An elite profession is one that has another profession as a pre-qualifier.

Bottom line, its based on how many points you have used and what level those points are.You can go to any profession and just becuase dancer has been eliminatedoesn't matter in the least for the respec.

Let me get this straight. My alt is a master musician and has unarmed 3 on the way to TKM. I thought it'd be nice to have something to do when not out fighting, hence the musician, but I like combat. I can't respec him to a spy now? Or will he be a lowbie spy? This is nuts.

What about those of us who are level 80, but are hybrids?

It is all based upon combat level – you will re-spec at a level commensurate with your current level regardless of how many professions your skills are currently spread across.

How will conversion work for crafters and entertainers since their skills do not grant Combat Level.

Crafters and Entertainers will re-spec via re-allocation of their Skill Points. They will transition at a skill level commensurate with their current skill level.

In essence {as it is commonly understood}

if you are noncom and 250 points are used and you respec into a noncom prof you will be 'master' of that prof
if you respec into a combat prof you will retain the CL you have now.

If you have a CL50 you will be CL50, have a 2 you will be a 2

Now same goes for CL

If you are a CL80 and respec to a combat prof, you will be CL80
BUT
if you only use say 100 of your skillpoints you will only be about half way 'master' for any noncom prof
used all 250 you should become 'master

What I am going to start recommending to everyone is that if you would like the opportunity to respec into a combat profession..even temporarily, just to try it out..either use your left over token respect from the CU now or start grinding up combat levels.

QFE - what Eshie said...use your token respec to become a combat CL80 prior to November 15 - hopefully they will not prematurely pull the plug on the respec but let it disappear with the download on the 15th...

/sigh

I didn't do this on TC so basically I am screwed there...

Well I sure hope none of the CL-80’s doesn’t decide to /respect in to an Entertainer for an evening of dancing coz they may be in for a rude awakening when they try to /respect back to their uber-selves or will the system actually remember who was what prior of using the first of ten /respec?

Kinda hard for casual players, no? Imagine going from M.Dancer/M.Entertainer/M.Musician to a CL80 in 7 days with only a couple of hours to play a day. Sucks for the average Joe.

it does suck, but whatI have seen so far is that alot of the combats are willing to help, big time.

For anyone who is attempting or thinking of grinding and getting some CL

make it public, ask for help from your server..you may be surprised how many folks you did not know step up to offer help.

Do not fear explaing the reason you want CL now, most know, and those who don't may appreciate finding out themselves.

I understand, but i work over 50 hrs a week, have a wife and a 3 month old, and can only play for maybe 2 hours every couple days. trust me,some people are gettting screwed big time. I dont take it too much to heart cause I dont think Ill be playing much longer (hated every other computer game because of controls, and now SWG has pretty much same controls as the rest), but others need to realize that alot of us dont have 60+ hrs per week to (hate to say it but true) PLAY an video game.
I was grinding out MBH, MP right before this was announced, and i hate to sya it but it seems pointless to me to dedicate so much time and effort into something that 1) I can do in a week, by myself without a group (it does sound this way) and the quests/ missions will be more involving

2) to get up to cl 60, just to convert over to.... A LVL 60 anyway !!!. I think the mad rush for CL is getting outta hand. What is the problem if the new systems way of grinding is soppose to be so much better?
