(yes I do know how to do clickies, in theory, but they never come out right)
Esharra could you please try and get it through to someone with half a brain on the dev team that one of the few delights left for we ents is performing en masse? How are we supposed to position ourselves neatly for performances?
As for we RPers, that was going to be my one refuge if combat was going to be no longer my thing. Running around like an idiot is going to bork RP for me.
I am hoping that this is something that will be fixed once NGE goes live, but Tiggs' post in the above thread isn't too encouraging.

walking is something that needs to stay. period.
in the mos eisley cantina, we frequently have stormtroopers who walk into the cantina to survey the scene. rollplaying ensues and sometimes arrests take place, and the prisoner is carted off.
ever see a squad of stormies burst run into the cantina on a regular patrol and then burst out with a prisoner? takes away from the RP aspect...

Marriage is not Star Warzy....hence no need to have the ability to walk.
I'm sure that there is less than 1% of the player base who get married in game. Watch out, they might remove you with the next expansion...

What just amazes me is that on the forums about NGE that many many players are vindictive and spiteful that we have the audacity to request to have walk stay in the game. Geeze!

SWG is not an RPG anymore. It's an FPS. So they aren't going to worry about taking away the "RP aspects".

From the Dev Tracker
We have added walking back in. It will be bound to Left Shift. The walk movement speed has been changed back to the original 1.5 m/s. This change does not alter the new run movement rate.
Additionally, we have found an issue regarding movement speeds and older characters. If you have made a character, and we alter the movement rates, your characters speed does not get updated.
We will fix this ASAP so that these movement changes are propagated correctly.
