Thanks for lowering mission payouts causing other people to have less money and hurting our tips. You coundn't have messed with the ones that payed incredibly could you?

Thanks for giving our own mission terminals which pay us 130cr for 20 minutes of dancing.

Thanks for increasing the price on shuttles taking more of what little credits I have now as it is.

Oh and thanks for making our training 5000+ for skills.

Look, our job is in the cantina dancing. Stop trying to make us into warriors. Thats just silly. We must be able to do our jobs and earn income enough to buy new clothes and pay for training.

Thanks

I agree that the Ent Mission are TOTALLY pointless. The time it takes me to go to a Terminal... find two at the same place... go there... dance 20 mins... I could just as easily STAY in my usual Cantina and make twice as much in tips... no problem!

Tips have slowed a little since Mission payouts got nerfed, but not toooo bad, at least not for me. I'm making about 2/3 what I used to. Also, since making Master I dance a little less each night too.. so it could even just be an effect of that. I only dance during "peak" hours now.

I haven't noticed any affect in tips in the time since the patch (is it 6 days now?). My best tip period was Saturday afternoon, when I and one or two others were the only people in the Moenia cantina and there was a PVP war going on (or something) outside and tons of wounded people were coming in and in serious need of healing. They were quite appreciative and I made like 6,000 cr in under an hour.

Given that, I do agree that the missions are utterly useless. Before the chop in payout, I did one going from Theed to Dee'ja Peak for 550 cr or so and given the cost of the tickets (Theed to DP, then DP to my home base in Moenia) and the time it took (to use the shuttles, find the hotel in DP, dance, etc) it was hardly worth my time. 15 minutes of dancing in an active cantina will earn me way more than 550 credits.

I can't imagine going all over the map for 130 credits. What's the point? You can do a pair of same-city 75 cr deliver missions in 1/4 the time for the same mount of money. The way they are now, these missions are pointless and I'd bet no one with half a brain bothers to do them. They may as well just take them out of the game. As they are now the missions are just silly and unusuable.

Kuildeous, have you actually been to a tailor or weaponsmith since the change? Had they actually lowered prices from before the nerf? They certainly haven't on my server. Why? Because they don't need to. They can set their own prices. They are typically doing well enough monetarily that it wouldn't matter for quite a while even if their sales were hurting.

So Joe Customer comes into a cantina and sees 15 or so performers. He watches one dancer for a while to heal his fatigue and thinks to himself "Hmm, I should tip her, but I've been saving up for that laser rifle which still costs 20k." and walks out.

It's not an even lowering of funds across the board, because we, as entertainers, can't currently enforce any type of payment scheme. Simple really, you make less, you tip less. You still pay your bill because it's mandatory, and you're not a thief (or can't be in the game). Tipping is just extra... And we're a tip-only profession.

Must be server or area specific.. I haven't seen a decrease at all in the times I've been in public cantinas since the patch.

That being said, yes, ya know what, we may make less if the economy changes, in the longer term. By the same token, I disagree completely with whomever said that tailors or weaponsmiths won't change prices - they will if the demand indicates they have to, same as anyone else.

As for training costs, yes, they bite if you're on a new server and are leveling up more quickly than everone else. If you played in beta 2, 3, and 4, that should be no suprise to you. The difference is that now money is harder to come by, but the reality is, we ALL have to deal with it, and it's no more expensive than any other profession. If you can't afford training, find some dancers willing to either support you, or share trains - I did both. Lower levels help tip you to get you trained, and in return you train them free. Someone close to you and you each train different lines of the tree, and train eachother for free - providing tips to help eachother when you can. It's not easy, but it's also not some targeted attempt to turn dancers into combatants.

How long has the patch been out? Less than a week. The merchants haven't felt this impact yet. If someone is selling a laser rifle for 20k, then after the 10th person declines because he doesn't have enough money, the merchant may have to reconsider.

It's really early to see the impact of the new economy.

Although the resource shift does play an important role.

I didn't say they won't change prices, I said they haven't. It may be in the longer term that they will, although those I've spoken to have no intention of doing so. And right now, today, at this moment, I get less tips because of the change.

Well, I'm still tipping the same. Still tipping 1k a performance, no matter if I have 36 or 100+ BF. Haven't really seen a drop in mymoney making either. I suppose it helps that Ican do Explorer missions and make decent money still and have a lot more fun doing it now too . It also helps that I have nothing to spend my money on either, still haven't found a better dancing suit for males other than the skin tight suit (I get called Spider-man...alot ).

I have not noticed a decrease in tips.

The patons, who tiped before, are tipping anymore. The "leechs" have now an other excuse not to tip, after they only earn 10000cr instead of 20000cr the hour.

Um, since the latest patch that introduced mission terminals for artisans, I've now got more money than I ever dreamed of having. I now tip at least 1000 credits anytime i need healing. So if your tips are still bad, it's not the missions, it's the customers.

I'm a DE, if I have 100k credits, I don't see why anyone else doesn't either. I have yet to make any profit off of my droids, since they're broken anyways. The new mission terminals helped out bunches.

Wow. Of all the professions affected the patch, the dancer was one of the least negatively impacted professions. Yet people will still find a reason to complain. No wonder entertainers have such a bad reputation.

Lower-level missions pay less. Fine. Higher-level missions pay more. Those people taking on the big hitters need healing too.

And it doesn't matter too much in a player-driven economy. If the overall money is less, then everything must suffer. That weaponsmith's gun cannot sell for as much. Those materials cannot sell for as much. Entertainers do not get tipped as much.

Although, honestly, I haven't seen a decrease in tips since the patch. Maybe you're just having a bad week. Give it some time.

As for entertainer missions, I should actually try one to see how it goes. It doesn't sound positive. I suppose it could be something cute to do if you have no patrons (or the band is so large that you probably won't get any tips).

Kuildeous: I don't want a reason to complain. And everywhere I go to dance, I am welcome with open arms. Don't make me out as some trouble maker. I don't appreciate that. Maybe your experience is different than mine? Maybe I am just voicing my own frustrations. I am running on the Tempest server. Perhaps that is suffering more because there are less players. I don't know.

Entertainer Missions

Go out and get missions that are a few feet away by the cantina you're already performing in. Then go in and perform. When you get the mission, go out and repeat. You should end up with roughly 900 credits an hour if you do this while you're in the cantina. Of course you must group with people who are also doing this or you lose out on the money because it gets split.
