Thread: I'm Baaaaack...

Well last week my system was destroyed. Possibly by a storm related surge. I had a cascade effect that destroyed first one drive, then another, then my MB and then my processor. (And no it was NOT the power supply. My system is mounted in a server case and has a regulated multiple power supply system.)

In any event I had to replace everything but some memory, one drive and my video and network card. I took the opportunity to upgrade it while replacing it.

Once I got it all assembled and installed yesterday I tried SWG and it seems to work (for the moment) so looks like I'm back in business.

Must say I was terribly disappointed and embarassed by the new flourishes everyone has been talking about. Disappointed for myself and embarassed that a customer saw me trying them out in public. They ARE truly dreadful. Whoever designed them needs to go watch some dancing movies at the very least!

I'm back in Keren and back to work. In the month I've been gone looks like pretty much everyone I knew there is gone or moved on somewhere else with a few exceptions.

And to Bulbous and my other detractors and those who dislike me... get over it. Lets make a deal. You ignore ME and I'LL return the favor. LOL.

And quite honestly I have NO FAITH whatsoever that replacing the MB and CPU will fix the problem. I'm pretty well convinced it is a problem on the database end over which I have no control.

That's hilarious. I think that demonstrates where your technical skills are at. Didn't your call to Technical Support end with a suggestion to get new hardware? Didn't you treat that suggestion with scorn and derision? I think it's probably for the best that you do not work in the computer field any longer.

Welcome back, Flawed. I, for one, missed your posts. Just /ignore Bulbie.

I've left online games for a few days or for a month, and it's amazing how much things change during my absence. A guild adds 10 new members. Interpersonal dynamics do awry. People quit the game... it's never a static scenario, and that's both the strength and the weakness of MMRPGs.

Welcome back!
