Thread: Group mind buff timing question
Disclaimer: I *did* search the forum and read the guide to buffing, but both were vague about this. And the manual? Hohoho. What a larf...
Question: how long does my dancer have to dance for abunch of people (ie not using /setperfom) I am grouped with in order to give them a mind buff? I know it is longer, but is it a flat figure (eg twice as long?). Does it depend on the number of people in the group? Is it quicker with higher dance knowledge? Does being in a cantina speed things up, or can it be done just as quickly in the field or in a camp?
As a matter of interest,I tried with a dancer with techniques 4 for 12 minutes and got nothing, then tried again with one who only had techniques 3 for a /setperformtype of buff for 8 minutes. I then got a 2 hour buff of 75% of my mind. Ie it seems to be that once you start getting buffed by dancer A in group mode, but that is not completed, then you get an individual buff from another dancer, then the first buff (or the higher buff) "takes".

I generally do a combination of the exotic dances with flourishes timed to start about 25 seconds after the last one finisheswith some lights and smoke thrown in for 10 minutes, whether doing /setperform on one person or buffing in a group. So long as they start watching when I tell them to and /stopwatch when I tell them to, they receive the buff. I did have one instance where a group member did not get the buff. Due to the group needing to head out right away, I was not able to ascertain if the unbuffed guy did /watch and /stopwatch so I don't know if it was user error or just a buggy buff.
I know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, in that it's not more exact, but the experiences of each of us are the only real information we've gotten so far.
I was grouped with a master dancer, I watched her for 12 min and received a 2 hours buff. She danced her best dance, combined with some sfx
(dazzle, smoke etc.)
