Thread: Dancer top 5 predictions
1) Falling down.
After careful consideration and evaluation of the rate of falling, we agree that dancers are not falling as much as we'd originally planned. We shall increase the rate of falling as you get higher in skill. We are also going to help you out by having falls cause mind wounds. (see #3) Look for this in a future patch.
2) Mind-buffing self.
Since the difficulty in allowing you to target yourself and /watch or /listen is above the capabilities of our crack programming team, we're going to simply apply the buff full time to dancers and musicians. This will be much easier for us to code and you'll have double your appropriate mind pools all the time. To balance this and make sure it's not abused, the buff will disappear while in combat and reappear once combat ends. This should roll out shortly.
3) Reduce amount of healing exp needed to skill up.
We understand that healing rates have dropped off, especially in regards to wound healing. It would be unfair to existing masters to simply reduce the amount needed, however, and we think the change in #1 (see above) should more than compensate. If needed, we shall increase the damage that falls provide once we evaluate the changes.
4) Make changes to mind buffing system to make things easier.
We're considering adding a new user interface for entertainer buffing. In the meantime, since that won't go live for probably an age, we will be giving you a new user interface that makes creating macros such as /setperform much easier to create. You'll love this interface, you can craft a macro in a few seconds with little work and there's even a loop button so you no longer have to mess with that /uitoolbar nonsense. We're going to also ship a few standard looping dancer macros that will loop endlessly and maximize experience gain, which should help #3.
5) Fix the lyrical/formal base dance.
We understand that there is an issue with those dances and we have already taken steps to fix them. The problem was with the original motion capture data. To fix the problem, we put one of the developers into a home made motion capture studio in his garage and should have the new dance steps out in a few weeks. This is being done by the same animator that created the additional flourishes for some of the dances that we pushed out shortly after the game went live, so we know you're going to love them.
Thanks so much for the feedback and may the force be with you!

Pass some more of that TH stew, that stuff is great!
It's positive, constructive thinking like that this that caused me to abandon my Thanks to AFK Macroers thread. I realized that the dominant force on this board is one of strife and discontent and that trying to debate issues in a rational way was getting me nowhere.
I recognize that this post was made tounge-in-cheek, but it's less funny than it is an obvious dig to the Devs who work hard to make this game the best MMOG out there. Ifail to understand why people who evidently enjoy the game so little continue to pay subscription fees and frequent forums. But perhaps it all comes down to this one fact in life:
Some people aren't happy if they're happy, and love to complain complain complain - yes, even if that complaint comes no-so-skilfully-disguised as a funny-haha post.

I'm a developer myself, so I rigerously defend the developers when it comes down to it, because I know what they have to face. However, I found this quite amusing. In fact, as soon as I started reading the first thing about falling down, the first thing that popped into my mind was "They have announced that they found a problem with the fall rate, and will be adjusting it up to it's proper level.'
Now stop complaining and enjoy the humor.
Don't laugh too hard - SOE has some history of copying the competition, and Horizons has this already. Almost down to the loop button. It's not loop, but you can select an option to activate one of what is their equivelent of toolbar buttons, on any of what is their equivelent of toolbar panes without switching. It doesn't take a genious to apply that to "Well gee, I can have this macro activate it's own button!". Their macro system is easily as powerful as SWGs, and has a nice clean easy to use interface to boot.

::giggles:: I thought it was hilarious.
And I understand that coding is not like making icecream. And I understand that with 32 professions, it can be hard to keep up. That's why I'm never too worried about WHEN it happens, just as LONG as something beneficial happens.
However, Pickle's humor does sort of lean (allitle askew but nonetheless) in the direction that developers of most games tend to do things- from the PLAYER perspective at anyrate.
It's not that we are a board of strife. A board that gets bent out of shape when people try and do it on purpose, sure. And the resons WHY have all been covered. And sometimes humor is needed to keep people relaxed.
Would you rather this be a "GAWD THE DEVS SUK THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!" thread? This was more constructive. Never meant to be taken seriously.
Apparently the little "Smile face save" doesn't help people understand humor anymore. ::Sigh:: Somepeople just don't understand "A Modest Proposal" ::giggles... then tries to remember who wrote it...::
Pickles, be a little more realistic.
I expect the responses to go more like the following:
1) Falling down.
We know. We're working on it.
2) Mind-buffing self.
No.
3) Reduce amount of healing exp needed to skill up.
No.
4) Make changes to mind buffing system to make things easier.
We're working on it.
5) Fix the lyrical/formal base dance.
*sigh* ...workin' on it.
SWIFT! I kept thinking Seagull, which is just about a reincarnated bird. ... of course he never made it PAST bird. Just to a brighter one, hehe.
Yeah, that Ice cream is tough.... >.> ::giggles::

Tell me about it. I can whip up a mean program, but I still haven't succesfully made a batch of old fashioned vanilla in 3 attempts. I think I need to use a double boiler next time.
Jonathin Swift.
