To all the Master Dancers, and those that just don't go AFK.

Yep, I'm on the "hunt" to become a Jedi, as I'm looking for a new challenge in the game. With saying that, I've decided to give the Dancer profession a shot, to see if that will help. Been doing it a few days, and it is kinda fun, but not really what I want to do.

With that said, I want to give out a very large round of applause, and some kudo's to all of you that did it the old fashioned way.I don't know how you all did the trip to Master without going AFK, and keeping a happy face while you did it. I have nothing but respect for all of you, and hope that one day others will see how important you all are. I'm trying my hardest to not leave the keyboard while doing this profession, but it's hard. I have AFK'ed once *ashamed* due to family swinging by, but for the most part I'm there.

So before I get too long winded, I just want to tip my hat, kowtow before you all, and say that when the holo craze is done, I will be back to watching and appreciating you all. My tips will definatlely go up from the 1k minimum to all of you that do this for a living. My sincerest hope that the holo craze doesn't ruin this class for alot of you, having to deal with the AFK spam and all the people cluttering up your cantina's. I hope I don't demean the entertainer profession by being there, and I thank you all for letting a guy visit and get to know the Dancer's I've worked with.

Take care all, and know you have another real fan of the people that actually do this for fun, and not for a holocron

That's sweet!

The holo craze was a mixed bag for us I think. A lot of holotainers were really cool and stayed ATK to chat as much as they could and were really fun to group with when they were ATK. I personally enjoyed that part of it, more nice people to talk to is always a good thing for a chatter. Some AFK is the only thing that makes sense for a holotainer given the xp payoff and those of you that are polite and nice about our chosen prof are ok in my book. You aren't the ones to blame for that system anyway.

The downside was that a whole lot of people learned that you could make a master buff bot in three days that don't have any respect for the prof or the people doing it. That's the part that has changed the game and we'll still have that after the holo system is long gone. Hopefully we'll be allowed some new options in gameplay as a dancer now that the old ways are gone forever. The bots won't bother me as long as I have something else to do with the class.

Anyway, thanks for the nice post.

Nice post. Believe it or not, I scratched my way to Master Musician entirely at the keyboard, with the fun gang at Coronet cantina way back in the Eisenhower administration. (Well, it seems like it was that long ago.)

thank you very much I clawed my way to master dancer in the very beginig=ng i took me two months never afk. and now when i refuse to dance with(group) or teach afk macroers i get attitude and insults some of them quite lude.i think its really fnny though a guy on my server got warned by a csr and warped to a shuttleport for afk macro killing. another had alot of his money and items taken from him for the same reason so it seems afk ent is ok but we cant turn around and do the same for combat. How can we hope the players will respect or proffesion when its so blatenly obvious the devs dont.

Well all, I just wanted to stop in again, and say I made it to Master, with a very minimum of AFK time.

I think I finally figured out why people do this class AFK....They are afraid of the fact they will make new friends!! I am pretty sure I've added 5 new names to my friends list just from this week, and I truely plan to keep in touch with all of them. You all do a great service, and I hope that more people realize that soon, and treat you with the respect you truely deserve!

Sadly, I didn't open up my FSCS, so it's back out there to do more. But at least I know where to go to get myself healed up, and where to stop to have a good chat while doing that.

To all the Entertainers of the Theed cantina on the Sunrunner server...YOU ROCK! It was a fun week, and a fun time getting to meet you all, and learn about the profession. I hope that SOE takes the time to give you all some new dances, flourishes, and maybe add in couple dances, so that male and female toons can put on a show like the old dancers.

So as my last message to you all, I just want to say if you are near Theed, and the cantina, look up a few of the ents there and say hi. Gleamiee Gleam, Secret' Star, Kanoi, and Lashtar are names that will always stick in my mind. And of course, I can't forget to say a huge thank you to your own Annie (Anoewyn) for being supportive and giving me some advice.

Good luck to all of you Dancers out there, and be assured that one more person has finally seen the light, and will be giving you even more respect than before. Take care all, and most importantly....Have alot of fun

Now i really cant say thanks, because i havent decided for sure that i wanted to become a dancer, but i can say thanks to the fact that you do appreciate and realise that there are people who work so hard to do it the honest way. I am pretty mind set that i will go into the dancing profession, but not a hundred percent there. YOu keep up the praise for those hard working people, they do deserve it for not going afk all the time, and for keeping the game fun and exciting for the rest of us.
