Generally, I get treated pretty decently. Some guys flirt but it's harmlesss and just in fun, which I don't mind. I actually don't get too many guys who are outride rude. So on the whole, I would say I'm lucky and only get really harrassed maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

Since i have payed extra close attention to the dancer forum, i have gotten very mixed messages.

Some of the dancers feel that they are mistreated. Personally i tihnk they are.

The others find that they arent mistreated.

So I want to know who really has the majority. Are you mistreated more than not? I stated in an earlier board that i found a large mistreatment in people toward dancers.

I get treated pretty good overall. When men say "Shake it baby!", that's when it borders on rudeness, but I'll let it pass.

There's always flirting and such, but if you handle it right there's never a problem.

Still loving my dancing

For the most part I do not get mistreated. But, when I do get mistreated, it takes on a different form than most of the women dancers. While they may be sexually harassed, the mistreatment to males tends to be homophobia. I have certainly been accused of being gay on more than one occasion. And, whether or not I'm gay is not the issue, because being accused of being gay is used as an insult against gay people, which is what I find more insulting than anything. So, I think that is the "mistreatment" that most male dancers face. While I enjoy this game greatly, and the vast majority of people I meet, I feel that the word f*g is used far too often, and I feel that should have no place in this game.

I'm treated very well, on the whole. Patrons are generally very respectful. There are some occasions where there's a 'shake it baby' thrown in, but if I do not react it stops right there, once. Probably just a little character thing, and it hasn't gotten out of hand.

Occasionally someone will get too close, and/or get a little lewd with emotes. I give a little /nono finger wag, and a "that's going a bit too far, now..." , and so far there have always been apologies following that. I think they were just getting a little toohappy with their emotes and weren't thinking; a gentle reminder put everything right... including a lot of /bows from some ofthose people as they left.

I know a lot of dancers get treated pretty poorly... I'm happy to say that I'm not one of them.

For me, it's been very mixed. Overall I think the men playing on my server are a decent sort (and I've been playing for such a long time, I'm well known and have a lot of friends). Occasionally, though, I do get the random idiot who thinks that because I'm dancing in a leotard, I'm gonna come over and rock his world. Recently, I was re-mastering dancer and had a guy come in and begin to harass me quite openly. I was doing the lyrical dance, which as you all know, makes you travel. And I had ended up 'travelling' to this guy's table. When I did, he took it as an invitation and began saying stuff like "let me see your **edit**, sl*t" and VERY offensive stuff like that. It was dealt with rather quickly though... three people showed up and beat the crap out of him. LOL. I guess I should have been tipped off by the fact that his name was in all caps...

Overall though, my experiences are good ones. I enjoy being a dancer.

a right... answer? i dont think there is one. it depends on who we all come across, i'm sure. its all chance encounter whether we come across abusive players or not. but then, i like being abused but generally, i dont think we get a lot of respect and are just sort of cast aside as a profession thats not as important as the rest of the combat and crafting classes.

personally, i dont want to be respected for being an entertainer, and i don't believe i should just get respect either. i believe i should earn it and in general, all people should be respected because we are all human beings, the basic treat others as you want to be treated.
