I only noticed this last night because there was someone constantly spamming emotes in the Theed cantina. In the past, their spatial chatter was ignored but not their emotes. Thiswas incredibly frustratingsince it was just as annoying to constantly hear "Joe Dork screams with frustration" or whatever "clever" emote they chose to put into their macro as it was to hear "tips needed. k thxs". Please tell me this wasn't just an odd bug and that emotes have indeed been added to the ignore filter.

Uhm... actually I can't remember that they've ever not been ignored.
But might have been before my time or I simply forgot... or you had some odd bug and it let emotes slip
But addignore ignores almost everything. Say in every channel, Tells, Emotes, Emails, Combat spam, /stand or /tumble stuff, and almost everything else.
I'm not sure about trading messages, but might be too.
The only thing I'm sure is NOT ignored is the notification if he tips you money

I'm going to guess Ikewe means AFK spamming. Ever since we got the option to ignore AFK chat, that has always precluded emotes, which I just found to be ridiculously stupid, considering a large portion of AFKers have emotes in their AFK macros (emotes alone can keep the connection alive). I'm so glad they fixed this. YAY!

What gets me is the people who think you have to have an emote to stay connected. Basically, you can have almost any looping macro going and you'll stay connected...I mean, dancing without spam is enough.
I just add it to my already too long laundry list of stupid people.

It sounds like perhaps Ihave just been bugged all this timethen - not a surprise since I seem to have some of the most confounding bugs that I am sure CSR's hate to see me coming. Until yesterday, when I typed /addignore with someone targeted then the only thing that was ignored was their spatial chat. Everything else came through loud and clear. I always wondered why people kept saying just use addignore when I complained about it. Well whatever happened to fix this for me I couldn't be happier - well unless some other things got fixed too. Then I'd be over the moon

Wait, so you WERE talking about the /addignore function?
Ikewe, you are borked. Kudos to you for surviving being an ATK entertainer without a properly working /addignore function. You poor thing.

I never get /addignore to work with someone targeted.
I always have to use /addignore [name]
Its a real pain with some names.
Perhaps thats the reason it never ignored emotes, since it never actually added anyone to your ignore list?

In some cases it certainly looks as if the name was specifically chosen to either avoid being ignored or to even get someone else ignored...

Well their name showed up in the add ignore list and their spatial chatter was ignored. And the same thing happened whether I used targeting or typed their name. My nickname among those who have known me the longest on Shadowfire is "bug girl". But now I know how everyone else was able to stay in the afkspammed cantinas all that time.
I'm just glad it seems to be working for me now.
