As some of you know if you are a Master Dancer and TKM (or any other single elite combat profession) you will only get 2000 of 3000 max health. That isn't going to make us very competitive.
For TKMs our Spin Attack has been moved to Pikeman
I did some testing and we have enough skill points left to take the polearms branch of Brawler, Novice Pikeman and the one branch of Pikeman that gives us Spin Attack back. That branch also has one other nice damage special. Between the two of them I was doing decent damage that I couldn't do with only TKM.
Additionally that line gives us added ranged and melee defenses which, with the defenses bonus we get from MD, make a significant difference.
Also we get an additional 200 health from that branch, taking us up to 2200/3000...not much but anything helps at this point.
IMO it seems like the best choice if you want to keep MD and TKM for the extra skill points. Only drawback for me is having to give up the Exploration branch for terrain nav.

Great advice. I'm not a TKM but I found this to be an extremely helpful post. Thanks!

I was playing around on Test just a bit ago with the skill set I want to have (and ajusted for the req of Ranged Support): Master Dancer, ID 4-4-0-4 and Pistoleer 4-4-4-0. It was pretty rough doing any sort of missions, but it almost works (not going to say a definate on that till my friends log in and we try grouping).
I took a look at TKM, and noticed there were absolutel no armour certs aside from TK innate - was wondering if it was good enough to get by as a TK soloer...while it makes sense that they can't use armour, I just wondered if the innate TK armour made up for it.

The inate armor seemed OK to me. The biggest drawback is the gimped health we end up with with only one Master combat profession.
I also trieda MP/MS/BH0040 and even with that full 3k health I couldn't solo a single level 78 Valarian Guard (I was level 80). So, I'm absolutely certain with 2k health it is pretty much impossible to solo at higher equivalent levels and at lower levels probably not much over your level.
The biggest issue for me is how we get cheated on health. The HAM system went from 9 components we could migrate to 3 that we have no control over other than health by taking more elite combat boxes. That leaves us entertainers WAY short on health to be of any use in a group.
How many groups with a limit now of 8 are going to put a Master Dancer / Single Combat Master with 2k health at the top of the invite list?

I am thanking the gaming gods I have a steady 4 person hunting group....
Yeah, we are going to get left by the wayside with so little health...

I am torn, was really happy to hear about the innate armor. NO more composite clone! I waaaaaas excited about the new stormtrooper armor though.
As for the health only being 2000, yeah I know, I peeked the other night. :/ I have made several posts requesting they make health based allelite professions mastered not just combat ones. I will be a big burden in PVP groups if this doesnt get changed. I am in a pvp guild, I know they wont leave me out of the group, but I never want to be a group burden!
I went ahead and picked up a second account in prep for the curb, but I am now hopeful they just maybe, just mightlisten to us. Just look at the NS bicep!

I have dropped TKM to take up Pikeman so that I can play around with the templates during respec. It will be an interesting time, but to be a max level player I would have to drop Master Dancer. I will just have to wait and see how it works.

Well thats possible for MD but for MM/ME (how can I be an MM and not "play every known instrument") there is no such option. I will barely be able to get the two handed line to keep TKM.

Thanks for the info!
Since they are finally balancing out range to be useful, I have actually considered going back to a ranged elite, but if I decide to stick with TKM, it's good to see that there are those among us finding out the best way to keep our moves and help increase our Health somewhat.
