If you going to afk find..dandy great. Its a mute point to agure over it at the moment. I just have one request. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE *on hands and knees begging* Do not have your character saying the same thing over and over again. If you want to have her /him say something please don't have it be every 5 mintues, it wears on neveres.

Please do not beg for tips in your marco espical if your afking in a group. If people want to tip you they will, I have people tell me they havent tiped someone becuase she was asking every two mintues for a tip while afk.

If you ARENT afk, please take the tag off.

So of the girls Ive seen AFking and doing tihs are really sweet ,but they don't seem to realize that there are non afk dancers that have to hear this too.

I've started putting people who spam for tips every 2 minutes on my ignore list. Clears up the spatial quite nicely.

LoraRevan, I'm afraid I'm not as understanding and forgiving as you. If someone wants to AFK macro, take it to the back of the cantina out of sight and turn off the macro spam so they're not interfering with the rest of the entertainers. If they persist, I'm not adverse to making my own public service announcements, poking fun at them (they're not there, anyway, it's not hard) and encouraging the patrons to ignore "x" because she's really just an Imperial droid whose AI went screwy

If AFK Macroers aren't providing any other service, I figure they can at least be comic relief. Their time in SWG is about to come to an end, anyway.

to be honest i afk macro, but not for extended periods of time, or in a large group of people like for example in coronet. but when i afk macro its usually if i am off to the bathroom, or getting a drink or snack. or if the mos entha cantina has nobody in it except for me, but even then i just leave it afk, without a macro running because i am doing missions and it just drains the action pool way to fast.

It's easy to paint AFKers as villains, but some of them are just unaware of the negativity they are encouraging.

In my home town, there was a spambot who drove us nuts. The entertainers usually enjoyed responding to the spambot's comments in a scathing manner. Patrons laughed and tipped us.

One day I noticed that the spambot was silent. Just standing there tooting the horn and doing automated flourishes. Then one day I saw the spambot move. I took that opportunity to make some cutting remark by thanking it for not spamming us. It replied that it received a rather nasty e-mail from someone. It had no idea of the annoyances it caused. Actually sounded like a nice person, I guess.

If you want to grief the AFKers, you could go buy(or suggest receiving as a tip) a bantha from a Creature Handler. Place the bantha on top of the AFKer so it's obstructed. What's the AFKer going to do? Move out of the way? The downside to this tactic is that the AFKer usually takes up real estate in the middle of the floor.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.
