Thread: Dance /Commands for better or informed dancing

What occurred to me was how many people not just clueless or retributive afk'ers might not know dance commands because they aren't in the manual. The patch notes are incomplete in the archives and clumsy. I was making up a list for my own group and forgot the /register command that announces you are a dancer in a cantina. And couldn't find it at all on the patch notes. So I'm asking for everyone who knows each and every command that pertains to dancing or entertaining to post so it can be someplace new dancers can go to for such things. And, er, could someone refresh me on that /register command?

Dancers:

//
I believe that requests a list of commands

/changedance xxxx
- allows you to change to another dance while dancing. Will not work if not dancing. Must have the dance typed correctly. If you are flourishing the changedance carries over to the flourish of the new dance. I call it a Quick-changestep for ic roleplay.

/bandflourish 1-8
allows dancers of the same dance to synchronize and flourish together, interrupted by falls and critical fails, interrupted if one of the dancers is already flourishing. Must make sure bandflourish toggle is on.

/bandflourish on/off
toggles bandflourish acceptance for dancers.

/setperform
Dancers and Musicians now have the option to target a player and type /setPerformanceBuffTarget, or /setperfor for short. Supposedly, if you dance/play for just FIVE minutes, doing flourishes and performing reasonably advanced songs or dances, the buff to Mind (by Dancers) or Focus/Willpower (by Musicians) will last a full TWO HOURS. The buff always doubles the Focus and Willpower stats.

/denyService
command for Entertainers. /denyService will add/remove the targeted player from a Denial of Service list. All players on this list will not be healed by the entertainers performance even if they are watching or listening to the performer. The list only lasts for the current play session.

/register - If you are a Novice Dancer or a Novice Musician you get the option to /resgister in a cantina. What this means is if someone looks up cantinas on the world map (ctrl V), they will see a sun symbol next to the cantina. So if I register in the Keren cantina, there will be a sun next to the Keren Cantina listing while the other cantinas will have moons. The /register is cancelled as soon as you leave the cantina.

/register - The /register command is only available to Novice Dancers and Novice Musicians. If you go into a cantina (only works in cantinas and I think Medic centers if you are a medic) and type /register, it will announced that the cantina is manned. However, it only shows up on the world map (ctrl V). If you look at the list of cantinas via the planetary map there will be a sun symbol next to the cantina you have registered at. If a cantina is unregistered, there will be a moon symbol. However, a moon symbol does not mean that the cantina is unmanned, it just means that no one there has registered. And as soon as you leave the cantina, your /register expires.

And if this post times out like my other one, I'm going to be upset.

Since I have no techniques I can't verify these but Tiaga says you can maintain access to all levels of techniques with the written command, otherwise the macro will only use the highest level of them. Some of the techniques DO vary.

/dazzle 1-3

/smokebomb 1-3

etc.

And for when you are busy with talking and things, it's good to know you can shorten most like:

/band 1-8

/flo 1-8

/changed popular

/startd popular

/changeb folk - for changing band music as leader without stopping the performance

first, here's some abbreviations i use in macros/aliases or when improvising:

/startd (start dancing)

/stopd (stop dancing)

/flo 1-8 (flourish)

/bandflo 1-8 (band flourish)

/bandflo on/off (accept/deny band flourishes)

/changed (change dances mid-performance)

/daz 1-3 (dazzle)

/dist 1-3 (distract)

/smo 1-3 (smokebomb)

/spot 1-3 (spotlight)

/col 1-3 (colored lights)

/register (/RegisterWithLocation indicates your presence on the planetary map)

/denys (deny service to the target - you may also specify a target with this command- /denys Luke)

/setp (/setperform target your active mind buff to the specified individual *new command*)

/startdance and /changedance can be used without typing the dance name after them. they should then bring up a UI window where you can choose which dance you'd like. /denyservice can be used on any number of people.

/pausedance - this shows up on the command list, and works, but it seems to function EXACTLY like /stopdance. if anyone else has extra info on this command, please post it.

here's some commands our patrons will want to know:

/watch (watches your performance, so they can recover mind wounds and battle fatigue. also allows members of your group to benefit from your passive mind buff)

/stopwatching (your patron stops watching your performance. if they were receiving a mind buff from you, the buff should immediately kick in)

/tip (bank) (tip and tip bank let your patron compensate you for the show)

/SplitCreditsToGroup (bank?) functions similar to the tip command, but if this is used on a member of a group, the tip amount should be evenly divided between all members of that group *new command*)

/clap, /cheer (cheers for the entertainers you are watching)

i haven't experimented much yet with the /splitcredits command, (i'm not even sure thats the exact command, but i'm pretty sure it is). if anyone else can confirm how this works, and if you can use the Bank command with it similar to /tip, that would be much appreciated

/pausedance doesn't really do anything but /stopdance that I've seen. It's not useful like /pausemusic.

As for abbreviations, /bandflourish can be abbreviated as simply /b for quick typing.

Another one I use is /dump this will stop any currently running macro. Very useful if you want to heal yourself or group mates, start up a synchronized dance with your group mates etc.

*hugs*
