Thread: Impossible to buff! :(

I've been to three master dancers. I've tried both passive and active buffing, and NONE of it is taking effect. This is happening with musicians too, but I'm saying it here because dancers seem much more ontop of these new abilities

Anyways, yeah, thats it. My mind and secondaries seem to be completely unbuffable. I've tried logging, dying, getting actively targetted while in and outside of group, passively targetted, etc etc...

During all 3 of these sessions, did the Master Dancers do a /setperform on you? Did you receivea message stating "<dancer> has turned their attention towards you" ?

One thing to remember is that only Dancers (novice Dancer and higher) and Musicians (Novice Musician and higher) can buff you. The Dancer targets a person and types /setperformwhile the targetuses the radial to /watch the dancer. I takes 5-8 minutes at MASTER level to do a +100% buff to the MIND (Dancer) or Focus/Willpower (Musician). After the 5-8 minutes the target needs to type /stopwatch in order to see the effects of the buff take place. I think we are working this point out, but currently it appears that the dancer needs to perform constant flourishes or possibly do many Effects in order to make the buffs affective.

It DOES work. I did an 8 min buff with only 1 technique box and it added 160 Mind to someone with 800 (i.e. +20% buff, which makes sense since I only have 20% of the boxes necessary to do the full buff in that amount of time). He was pretty happy with the +160 mind, though of course I am sure he wanted more.

Here's the key. They have to /watch you AND you have to /setperform. And then nothing SEEMS to happen until they un-watch. His Mind bar sat at 800 the whole 8 minutes I danced, but then, when he stopped and stood up, it went to 960.

This was last night. I asked him to send an e-mail telling me how long it lasted for, but I haven't checked today to see. I can post the results if people are interested.

I have found that i get full buff and full duration out of a combo of exotic 2, 3 and 4. YAY! so long as i dance for 10 mins (5 macros) the buffs last 2 hours and are 100% of mind. and yes, it stacks with Spice that was tested today.

As a Master Dancer on Corbantis I buffed a group of 10 today in 18 mins. I was passivily buffing 9 of the members when the 10th joined about half way through so I activly buffed him. This worked out really nicely so that everyone (grumbles under her breath...except myself) got double their mind. My husband, a Master Doctor, loves having 2000 mind. Tonight I am going to go overt and try the same thing with my guild members and see if the 125% will work or not.

To do this I have set up a macro for lyrical 2 (even though it is nota master level dance---exotic 4 gets boring with only 2 real flourishes and I hate doing flourishes that do not belong to the dance I am doing) and timed it. My macro lasts 2 full minutes so for a group I just run it10 times (yesI know it is one time more than necessary but I like to be certain everyone gets the benefit)and Voila! /stopwatch for the benefits. For an individual I do /setperform and do the macro 5 times just to be certain then tell them they are ready to go.

Not the best solution for timing but it works for now.

I have noticed that if someone is on spice, and i try to buff them it doesn't work. Has this happened to anyone else? It happened 3 times, where the buff didn't work, and i know at least 2 ofthe people wereon a mind spice. That maybe something to find out, if anyone can confirm this it would be greatly appriciated.

Also while im here, can you have a group and as people come in add them to the group, then when the buff time is up, then simply leave the group? That way may take longer but then people don't have to wait their turn, they just join the group. After the set time, they can just disband and be on their way. Its just an idea, and i haven't done any testing, if anyone know, that would be great.
