Thread: Link Dead Performers

Though last friday I was dancing in Mos Eisly on Starsider and there were 2 people who had been link dead for hours. I'm not kidding. I was the first one in the cantina for that "shift" and some others showed up. At about 9:30 am PST these two went LD. At about 12 pst a musician went LD. By 9 pm PST they were still there! It was ridiculous. I bugged it, and I sent a CSR ticket (at noon) But the CSR didn't show up until after they had finally dissapeared. (9 hours later)


I've seen it happen more than once. People who sit and go LD tend to dissapear faster.... but I've never seen it take this dang long....

Whats the deal? Ive been in a cantina for over an hour and see NUMEROUS people dancing and playing music while (LD). Is this a bug/exploit and if so is it being addressed? I mean come on...lol (LD) for over an hour and flourishing and everything ( Im assuming they are getting XP too ) .......how lame

You know what happens when you assume... They stop flourishing as soon as they go LD. They might get healing xp, but that goes so slowly that it's not significant enough to matter. And how in God's name can it be an exploit? Why would you go LD to get dancing xp when you can just as easily go AFK? No, going LD while dancing is not a bug or an exploit... it's just people leaving the game. The last time I checked, that's still allowed. *wink*

Any macro or anything stops the moment they go LD (guess they are controlled by the Client which is no longer connected).

I think the get the normal dancing XP they would get when not flourishing, that is it gets less every 10 seconds and at some point (after about 2 minutes or so) is 0...


They get normal healing xp though, if someone watches them or their group... but whoever mastered Dancer or Musician knows what a pain in the *** healing XP is, so i'm not mad that they get a few thousand healing xp while actually logged off.


If someone in their group performs a /bandflourish the LD people do as well. Thats how i guess they look like they still do something.

But bandflourishes doesn't reset the XP counter (only for theone actually doing /bandflouris)so they don't get XP for it.


I also noticed that sometimes people stay LD for hours. I suspect that dancing and someone doing /bandflourish prevents the system from removing them correctly...


but i also noticed that while i see them for hours, others that entered after the person has logged of, do not see that one...

no worries, I'll 5-star you

that happened a while ago on TC too, I went and told a QA but apparently unloading the area (ie relogging) works. it wasn't just me who saw it either, go figure O.o
