Thread: Issue with dancer/musician combo
Hmmm...I wonder.
I tried to give a buff to someone tonight and it didn't take the first time. So, I offered to try again, this time saying he would not have to pay for my buff since he hadn't paid yet and it didn't work. The second time it worked fine. And, I think the first time I was buffing him he was getting a buff from a musician. I couldn't figure out why my buff didn't take the first time, but this might be why.
I certainly hope that if this is the case that it's a bug. Goodness knows we don't need to require our patrons to stand around for 20 minutes plus any waiting time just to get our mind buffs.
And, btw, I tried my regular 10 minute buff and it only went an hour and a half instead of 2 like it normally does. Makes me wonder if the 2 minute minimum is still bugged as an addition to.
/sigh
I'll experiment some more tomorrow.

I told you this crazy head.
I don't know why, they haven't answered me yet. For the slower applications, 8 min, 10 min, and so on, you have to add an extra 2 minutes now to get the full duration. Over flo methods, spamming flourishes with out pauses or pushing through five at a time before pausing (ie /flo 1; /flo 2; /flo 3; /flo 4; /flo 5; /pause 8; /mac loop; ) still work the same as pre-patch. The minimum time for that is close to 3 minutes 12 seconds for full duration, but you need to be buffed or on foods for those.
On the not being able to be Music and Dance buffed at the same time, I had not incountered that in my testing. We were taking turns, so I'll need to go test that now. If that is the case, that sounds buggy and not intended to me so I'll flag down some Dev attention. Has anyone else seen this so far?

Ah, I remember you saying this. I forgot in my zeal to test things out, apparently. So, basically, what you're saying at this point is that they're encouraging over /flo'ing and speed buffing now? lol
Btw, I'll report you if you call me crazy head again. ![]()

Eek! It was a term of endearment, I promise. *hugs*
Yes, this seemingly encouragement of overfloing is what is confusing me. I can't imagine that it's intended, but it could be that they made a subtle change to our buffing system that just isn't displayed in the speedy method and only shows itself in the longer application.
I promise, I'm still on it! Till I have a solid answer, just know that you need to add asafety extra 2 mins to all non-over floed buffs.
Either way, definitely needs to be looked into. I've been telling people who complain about having to go 20 minutes to get both that they can get both at the same time. If that is not the case than it is a big hit to time to buff, no matter how you do it.
Well, there is definitely something glitchy with this, and it didn't start with the new patch - its been happening off and on for a couple of weeks now. Last night Roho and I buffed a guild member and halfway through I realized I hadn't /setperformed so I did the 3 minute macro buff(in 4just to be safe)on him and both buffs took just fine. A few minutes later, Roho and NeeCee buffed another guild member. Roho's powerbuff didn't take the first time and NeeCee's was only 1 hr 30 minutes. Roho powerbuffed again, solo, and it took.
I had actually forgotten about the /watch the dancer first and /listen to the musician second suggestion. Perhaps that's it, and not the fact that Roho and NeeCee were both standing on the city borderline that runs through our player cantina . . . ![]()
