Screenies of the upcoming ID changes, including the new holo emotes: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=image_designer&message.id=14665

Ok, so I have to admit, I'm walking the fence on whether or not I like these new "Holo emotes". I'm happy that the IDs are getting some new stuff though. I'll have to see the holo emotes in action before I make up mind about them. That said, do you guys think these will have any place in Dancing? Perhaps in the absence of props, these will prove useful as some sort of gimmick...or maybe they'll just be fun to screw around with. Thoughts? Ideas? Concerns?

Personally, I don't understand the bubbles. Someone in the art department is really into bubbles I think. *tongue in cheek* Maybe we can uses these to draw some attention to us in the sea of AFK names in the cantina...

According to our beloved correspondant, Kwee, the Holoemotes are much more subtle than in the screen shots. Those shots are most likely at the optimum spot. And she said that are actually rather pretty. So We'll see. But she assures us that they are better when seen ingame than on a screen shot.

I dont think they said anything about new hairstyles or anything like that. That would be awesome, oh and more dances...atleast we are one step closer though. New emotes look funny, just they will be used too much to where people will be bored of them fastI think, oh well.

I haven't tested them or anything, but I've read a few posts on the ID forums about them. I like to check in there every once in awhile, just like I like to check the tailor forums. As a dancer, I have to look good, right?

Anyway, from what I gather, the devs keep saying these emotes only last a few seconds. And, to be honest, I'm not sure how they work. Does the ID give you the holo emote and then you run for a few seconds and it's gone? lol Or can you have the emote readily clickable and each time you use it, it lasts a few seconds like an effect? Or, is it that the ID gives you the holo emote and it lasts a few seconds, leaves, then pops up again, lasts another few seconds, etc, until it runs out or what? I need to do some more research on this, but maybe and ID here can explain it to me a little better. At this point, I just remeber one of the devs saying it only "lasts a few seconds" which confused me. Because it seems like, on the surface, without any explanation, that you get the emote, and five seconds later it's gone, so what's the point. LOL But, I'm sure I must be misinterpreting or not understanding this.

At any rate, I'm sure I'd have to play around with it before I could give a final judgment on how this could be used in performances. But, I have to say, I'm an effects hog. I mean, I'm usually out there dancing, doing my own effects, and using my droids effects, like every 3 seconds. LOL. I think a lot of people are starting to get annoyed because I've become a mass producer of lag. I had my little droid, which I've named Chiana (any farscape fans out there?), doing the rounds, patrolling the Cantina and doing effects for kicks the other day, and people started trying to bodyslam the poor thing. I don't try to be annoying, truly, I just am. Plus, it just looks so cool! haahaha

Basically, what I'm trying to say, is I'm *pretty* sure I'll be partaking in holo emotes on a regular basis.

From what I've seen I remain un impressed , but I will withold final judgement until I see them live. From what i gather in reading they last a few seconds when used , but can be used multiple times before they are completely used up. Maybe the quantity of uses will be tied to the ID'ers skill level. We will find out soon.

The holo-emotes work like this:

You go to an Image Designer that has at least Hairstyles I (with each Hairstyle skill, you get more emotes). The Image Designer then -gives- you the emotes. At least that's what it looks like from the UI screenshots. You can then trigger the emotes whenever you want (except while dead or incapped).

My computer can't handle TC so.. gonna have to wait until Tuesday to test them out on myself.
