Thread: Current Status of Mind Buffs
From my understanding and what I've noticed, I can still buff someone for the full two hours in 8 minutes--which is how long I would take to do a buff before the minimum of two minutes was put in. I don't believe the two minutes is an addition to how long it takes to buff--only a minimum.
If someone tries to watch an entertainer and then /stopwatch before two minutes are up, he/she gets a system message stating he/she must watch the entertainer for at least two minutes for the mind buff to be applied. ![]()
I can buff now in 3:12 for a full two hour buff, just like I did before the patch. It takes overflourishing, and it can look kind of silly
Here is the readers digest version of a macro to do it:
Macro name: buffspam
/flo 1;
/flo 1;
/flo 1;
/flo 1;
/flo 1;
/pause 8;
/macro buffspam
I use a buff macro like this for both /setperform and grouped. I run it for about 3 minutes and 30 seconds (just a little added insurance).The force was with me tonight all the buffs took first try...2 hour duration.

I have never done the 30 second buff, so I have seen no difference in the time it takes, nor the effectiveness/duration of a buff I have given.
However, there does appear to be a problem with a customer getting a Dancer buff at the same time as a Musician buff. Has anyone finished exploring that? It seems like it will work if you wait 2 minutes before starting the other type of buff, but I have not had a chance to try more than twice, so I can't say that for sure.
Head's up...
Listening to a musician, powerboosting,dancing and pretty much every other activity will cancel the buff. Basically you need to make sure everything else is clear with a /dump;/dump;/stopwatch;/stoplisten ( I do dump twice cause for some reason it doesn't always take). Once you are positive you are not watching or listening to anyone else (including yourself--if you were recently dancing you may find that you don't get a buff, we've come to the conclusion that you are hung up watching yourself)
where was I????
oh yeah, once you are certain that you are not doing anything else at all, unequip any weapon or instrument an then you can target the dancer and type /watch. Once the dancer has fed the required number of flourishes into the system and after two minutes has passed you can cross your fingers and type with one hand /stopwatch, close your eyes, say a short prayer, open your eyes and check your stats.
about 50% of the time you will have recieved a full 2 hour 100% mind buff.
P.S. don't ask me how many flourishes are required because I have no idea. All this time and Dancer buffs are still guess work. /rolleyes

If I had to guess, I'd say 100 (Which coincedentally is how many you can do in 3 minutes 20 seconds)
