I've looked around at some suggestion threads, but not exhaustively, so if this is a repeat, please forgive me:
Is there anyone out there that would support an audible alert for recieving a tip? Bank tips give you the holomail alert, so you are able to pick up on these, but I have on more than one occasion completely missed that a tip was given in all the spatial that comes with entertaining. On some occasions I have recieved nasty /tells from people upset that I did not thank them and would like to make sure not to alienate people, as this can be detrimental to my reputation in this profession (as it stands, anyways...)Some kind of chime or maybe the sound of a few clinking coins would be perfect, let me know what you think!

I made a new window where only the system messages are shown. And in the Options for chat you can color phrases like "tips you" or "heals you" I got that tip from one of the dancer FAQ's (I think) and it works fairly well.
Try that for a time.

I also moved system messages off to the side in a different window and changed the font color for "tips you". It works great!

yep me too. I basically moved the default combat box over to the right of my normal chat box and set "tips you" to show up in bright yellow. Its easier to scroll back and check to see if someone paid you for something if you happened to miss it too, especially if your capped on dancer and healing exp

I have been having the same problem lately. I would have never thought of setting "tips you" to a different color on it's own system message screen. Great tip! Thanks alot

And if you use sentence colorization on the words 'tips you', it looks like this. Stands out even more.

I have it set so the entire sentence with "tips you" is in hot pink. I pretty much never miss it. I also changed every sentence with "healing experience" or "dancing experience" to grey so that everything else stands out more in comparison.
(Can't wait to get back to the days of having that xp capped and those system messages no more. hehe)

thx for the tips with the message coloring - works fine for me now
but an audible alert would still be nice - why not make the alarm work with certain sentences/words..

While sentence coloring makes the message stand out more, it also makes it easier for patrons to scam you, as you cannot anymore decide if the message was generated by the system or typed by the 'tipping' player.
Personally, I like the idea of a "ka-ching" sound whenever a tip (or payment of other sort) is received

only way they could "fake" a system message is if they were a squad leader and you were grouped with them. System messages flash across the screen as well as filter into my combat chat window. The combat window doesn't show emotes (at least last time I checked it doesn't) so if a tip is in that window, I actually got that cash. I've never had anyone try to scam me like this before anyway.
