I don't know if Flurry is anything like Tarquinas but for us the entertainer community has been so raped by buff bots that almost no one plays ATK as an entertainer anymore. There is no way for us to really earn reasonable amounts of credits as an entertainer so the only people that have stuck with it are people that have alts that can earn credits to support an entertainer for fun. Now that the population of Tarq only relies on a couple of buff bots there are times when no one on the server without a personal buff bot can find a dancer/musician to get buffs from cause they aren't online.

Sadly I'd bet at least half the Tarquinas server population right now doesn't realise that mind buffs can be given outside of the coronet cantina by someone other than the two or three bots that routinely exist inside of it.

If they ever take away the ability for these bots to run AFK Tarquinas is going to be out of luck for a good 75% of the day cause there just aren't any entertainers playing those times anymore thanks to the very thing that is making it "easy" for these people to play.

Dan... you do need a break from the forums, and I know how hard it is to enforce that yourself. It's impossible to stop caring...

I know we've been through this before but they're not worth or time, our effort or our angst. Just addignore the people who bash ents in EOF and in game, and we'll work together to stop letting them have this kind of power over us. Actually the fact that I HAVE been posting angry things is a good start towards that for me -- I've always made a huge effort to not "flame" people and to be as rational and calm as possible. Which means all that anger's been bottled up for way too long. It's been slowly releasing the past few months but I still think i'm about to explode, too.

Anyway. We're in this together. The end is near, one way or another, and we can't quit now - just take a break and relax and don't you dare title any more posts like this because you gave me a heart attack.

Well, I think I just compared AFK bots to village hussies, so my suspension/ban MAY be imminent as well. >.< But I think it's funny!

All I can give you is understanding, Danial, if you are not to be with us. I'll couple this with my sincere hope that you'll remain with us.

When I get downtrodden at the forums, what I like to do is log in and go somewhere new, or try different things. Invariably, something always seems to happen out there that makes me understand that, despite it all, this form of recreation is still fun. Its hard to see that sometimes, given the rhetoric.

Because for as many individuals who claim that our contributions mean nothing, I find as many, if not more individuals who really do care.We will never see them here on the forums, though. Frankly, they are so busy having fun, there is no need for them to come here.

They need us now more than ever before. Because these new players, playing players (ironic how I have to say that), and good players are right now trying to understand why Guild X's buffbot should be fun for them, or what to do when everybody seems so detached from the wonders displayed on our monitors, the fantasy we all share, and the notion that one can still have fun with the simple things: like Basic 2, or missions out of Tyrena, or playing a medic or nurse in the medical centre. They are the ones that need us, they are the ones who appreciate us, and they are the ones that come and go without anyone on the forums even realizing it.

We as entertainers are so special in that we make the most of things that other players disregard with impunity: the thrill of walking across Naboo with only one's pistol, or the excitement one gets when travelling to a different world. This is the one aspect in which we as entertainers, despite it all, are blessed. We have an uncanny ability to find fun in those things we least expect, simply because we try harder to foster fun. We had to. We do now...

...And we hope to continue to do so. Despite it all. One step at a time.

Make it fun for yourself, Danny. We're all going through a very hard time. Our game has been destroyed by greed and meaness. Not long ago, one of my best friends..a very dedicated dancer..dropped the prof and returned to rifleman. Saturday, another close friend since very early in the game closed her account. Right now my cantina is closed because I got sick of not being able to use the stage with it so crowded with buffbots everytime I logged in and the grief I was getting when their owners found them flourishing away on the front porch. The only time I buff anyone anymore is when I'm in the mood to run with my old pvp team. On Chilastra, we're all pitching in together to make sure everyone can cover their "living expenses". It's tough & I'm not sure what's going to happen in the future but the best we can do is just wait and see how it all works out. And until that time comes, all I want for any of us is to just find a way to have fun. We're all going through the same hell, on every server and none of us subscribed to this game just to make our lives miserable. Like I told Til, you have to do what you have to do. Take care, Danny, and come back when the profession works for you.
