Someone on my server boards decided that it was necessary to post an "etiquette" thread for the popular buffbot group in Coronet.
Needless to say, I snapped.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Kettemoor&message.id=358576
(apologies for lack of clicky, i don't know how.
Maybe someone can clicky it for me?)
Somehow, I suspect I won't be too popular amongst 75% of the Kett population for a while... but at least I know the other 25% is the part I like.
Needless to say, I snapped.

Don't you worry. I'll back you up and join you in the unpopularity.

That's priceless!! I really love the "bot" who comes in and asks how live entertainers are going to solve problems like the person who's trapped in their player city. LMAO! How is the Bot in the Coronet Hotel going to solve that problem? Magically come to life and ambulate leaving all those people currently getting their mind buff behind? Do these people even know how to make a friend with a live entertainer? I travel to people all the time who are "trapped". It's really easy. I stop what I am doing, move toward the starport or shuttleport and voila! I'm in a new location. I also really love howthe botsays the live entertainers need to address the problem of there not being enough live entertainers! Wahoo!! Absolutely priceless!!!

FEAR NOT! My fellow dancers....for there is hope and it comes in this form!!
(as you can see, I got a little over-excited in the linked thread, but it was just such a change for me)

I am really sad that the post was ever made and that Chii and the rest of us had to respond, but I am very proud of Kettemoor for the fact that we have so many supporters. Especially O, considering she's pretty much one of the best PVPers on the server. You don't usually see much love from PVPers, especially not really good ones.

Heh...Freya, I have certainly gotten into my share of flamefests on the Kettemoor forum. I think right now we haven't seen anything really bad yet because people may not have read it. I dunno.
I'll be up there in the fray when I get home tonight. Don't really have time for it now.
But, Chii, I would have snapped at that too, and in fact I kinda did, just didn't write anything yet. Wow. buffbot ettiquette guides. Something amazes me every day.

OMG I can't believe the things that were posted. The nerve!! We need to step up to support them??????? In pvp every one is important. Do they create buff bot docs and riflemen?? Are riflemen and docs told to step up and do as they are told?? Ithinknot! I smell a sexist pig. If he really grinded atk as he says, which I highly doubt, he would not say such things. It seems to me that the buff bot image has spilt over to us. That's all they see us as. They forget that there are people behind these characters just as much as they are behind theirs.
I had a friend complain to me at work today how the cantinas are dead lately. To which I answered of course they are. Everyone visits there favorite buffbots instead and if you are the one or two live entertainers it can get very discouraging.

I can attest that Swazi did alot of grinding ATK, but he did utilize the AFK programming and stayed on all night long, even when he wasn't there.

the buffbot Cottonmouth he speaks of has done a LOT less than he claims. I know. I was re-grinding my third mastery of Dance at the same time that char was around, and a great deal of that time, I ran the Theed cantina groups from 9am - 5pm PST for days on end.
I am heartened by the number of non-entertaining supporters that have posted. In fact, at risk of looking like schmoozing little puppy, I may even make a separate thread saying so. Oddly enough, in the midst of all this BSing and chaos, I'm feeling better.
I think I'll plant my little lekku'd butt in Theed tonight, and buff. I'll gather up all my Mastered friends, form our own little group, and even invite the poor, suffering combatants so they feel more comfy in their buff-blankie.
