i think it is idiotic that to become a jedi you have to seek fame and power. that you have to powergame and grind professions. it is idiotic that you cannot just play the game and open the force slot. whatever happened to "A Dancer has as much chance to open the Force slot as a Master Bounty Hunter..." so basically to do it you have to just go out and grind skills and be a power gamer.
what a crock of rancor poo

one of my first posts had to do with the old Hero of tatooine quests (when peopel didnt know what they were talking about). I was askin about the mark of intellect because that was supposedly one of the steps toward getting jedi.

given up something you enjoyed (skill wise) to take up musician (or if you are predominatly musician, substitute that for dancer) Right now I am master dancer/TKM. And although I find myself getting mildly bored at times, I love it. However, whenever I go somewhere to buff people's minds they say "Can you do both?" and I tell them no and they generally run right to the next buff bot. The only musician friends I have are either stationary (Un'Re never leaves his cantina for the most part) or musician isn't their major thing. So I can't just team up.
So have any of you given up something you enjoyed in a MINOR attempt to win over people from the bots?
It is attitudes like this that is killing the professions. I like they should all be denied service (which i think should be a permanent list like addignore. Then 'when' they nerf buffbots those rude indivduals will have a hard time finding buffs. I know I'm dreaming but a girl can dream can't she?

Well we have gotten Un're out a bit more lately
. I'm lucky that I have a beautiful partner to dance with me but I know how you feel. I did give up some skills to take dance knowledge so I could dance a little with Imaji and in dance lines but dropped that recently for some more scouting. I just started an alt myself so I'll probably drop the scouting on Elwyn and get dance knowledge back but I have no interest in giving up my combat skills to provide dance buffs. I just don't feel like pure entertainer is viable unless you have an alt or are a cleaver business trader like someone I know
. I also like being able to run out and save the ladies when red dots attack

No, I'm an awful Musician. I wish I could say I wasn't, but I really am.
I would like to give people full buffs, but I just can't justify wating so many skill points on something I'm so stinky at. I am a mean ID though.
I comfort myself with that, lol.

I have little musical talent so I rely on Roho to be my musician. No matter the instrument, it always sounds as though I'm playing it with my feet . . . .
We haven't buffed together since they fixed the broken duo-buff bug (neither of us have been online that much in the game unfortunately), but it's always been great fun for us.

Nope, I refuse to play for people that would never play for me, even if it's as simple as /telling me they need a buff before heading to Jaaxie orJaxim.

Now, I did go out and buy an alt (/sigh) and I'm going music on my main as well as dance.
But I asked myself MANY MANY MANY times if that's really what I wanted to do or was i doing it because people expected it of me?
I think if we tailor ourselves to what they think we should be, we've lost.
Music, though, is quite the fun thing
Just be yourself, since that's what makes us love you anyway.

Ay'la,
I actually considered giving up my combat skills so that I could provide full mind buffs. ButI enjoy combat and I make an excellent living with it.I have no guarantee that those people would in fact choose to hire me over their automated dispensor. So if I gave up my combat prof how would I maintain the maintenance on my cantina? Or purchase accarragm or any other game item I choose to have to enhance my game experience? We may have chosen a support profession but that doesn't mean we should have to give up everything we have worked for just so that we can combat those who would destroy ourelite entertainerprofession. Is one of these people willing to pay me 1 million credits per day (what I could easily make if I ran combat missions non-stop) to be there 23/7 whether I provide their mind buff or not? Then why should I be willing to be their 23/7 slave?
cheers,
Ikewe
