Thread: New idea for Choreographer
Hope its a new idea anyway ![]()
The dance troupe im with dance mainly in formation but after a few minutes of dancing that carefully formed line turns into chaos, so my idea is that once a dancer reaches the title Choreographer give them the skill to set formations in their group.
So, the group leader presuming he/she is a choreographer has the choice to choose between such formations as "Line" "V" "Column" etc. This automatically puts everyone currently dancing into the set formation. Kinda like certain strategy games.
Does squad leader already have something like this? if so it shouldn't be that hard to impliment

This sounds great Serae! It is such a pain readjusting every 10-15 minutes. I hope they look into this idea.

Hmmm... Sort of a dancer version of a squad leader... Very interesting idea.
Let's take this really far into left field.
The choreographer as dance coordinator.
The choreographer creates a macro sequence for each member of the dance troupe. She downloads each macro to its intended recipient. She issues a /choreograph command.
Each dancer's macro starts running, BUT this is not a standard macro. Instead, it's a "cue card". At the point where a flourish is required, a signal of some sort is given the individual running the macro. (Text message, icon, whatever.) If he hits the timing correctly he gives his group a bonus in their dancer XP. If his timing is off, XP for the group drops. If his timing is really bad or he misses the flourish altogether, he falls.
You then extend the idea past XP into the realm of missions. A group dance mission would consist of game-generated choreography and the reward for the group would be based on how closely they were able follow it. To make it really difficult, you could have the choreographer be the only one to see the mission cues. (The macro on the individuals would be running invisibly, just to measure timing.) She would then have to communicate them to the other members of the troupe in a timely and correct manner.
The equivalent behavior would be available for Composers under the musican tree.
Interesting! I like any ideas about missions that include entertainers working together.

While these are all good ideas, my main intention was something that would allow us to form up into lines easier, the idea for giving the skill to choreographers was more for continuity than anything else.
I think we'd stand more chance of seeing something like this implimented if it was kept simple.
Thanks for the response though, theyre all great ideas that could be looked into.
