Thread: Open letter to Dancers/Musicians/Entertainers from a Doctor (CMs and mind damage)
1) as it stands, CMs are in my opinion un-balanced. They use a mind poision that is more powerfull, and effects more people than a doctor can treat; but thats neither here or there, just pointed out because I belive that you cant hand a single class too much power.
2) Recently I have seen Master Dancers/Musicians being seeked out for their skills, and they have been a bigger part of this player economy, you guys are finaly getting more money from the players. Whats going to happen to this if everyone can just get healed from a CM if they recive mind damage?
3) Unfortuantly, for those of you who seek more adventure in your lives, you are limited to the confines of the cantina. I've always wanted to see entertainers activly recruited for their services in the field, since that seems to be where the majority of players spend the majority of the time. (how many of you been on a Kyrat hunt? or been to Ft Tusken?) Entertainers would be a valuable addition to any party if they could heal mind damage.
I would really like to see this ability shifted to the entertainers. There are many of you, and I belive this skill belongs here, and you guys deserve it. I belive its not to late, you guys can still change this, send a message to the devs, send it loud and clear. Leave mind healing where it belongs, with the entertainers.

Mind wound healing is the realm of the entertainer, but damage healing is new altogether.
The pros to letting entertainers heal mind damage are obvious, but the cons may not be so.
Some of us chose this profession so we could join bands and play in cantinas, where large crowds often gather for a lot of socializing. Of course this aspect is fading from the game thanks to AFK macroing, but it's still there. Some players can be very demanding of others, and may take it as an insult if I tell them, "No I don't want to go on your hunting trip, I'm busy playing in the cantina." They'll offer money, they'll offer gifts, or they'll get upset and leave. Some will understand... some entertainers will jump at the chance to go along. Combine entertainers leaving to go hunting with the AFKs and cantinas are no fun for any of us anymore.
It's a huge change to the entertainer profession to give us mind damage healing, but it's not such a huge change to CMs to give it to them. They do incur wounds of their own for healing mind damage, which is in turn healed by entertainers.

Mind wound healing no CM's should not be able to do this. If they do get the ability alot of people will no longer even bother coming to the cantina. If you let them heal mind damage....Well let's just leave it at every other person would then become a combat med and what fun would that be. Personally as for being in the field I got to Ft. Tusken or the Tusken imp bunker at least once a day just to say hi to the ones I know out there and see how the tuskens like my new perfume. Poor little tuskens they never get any entertainers out there they go nuts whenever one shows up
That's explains why Tusken raiders are so nasty; they have no entertainment. Now it all makes sense.
I have to take issue with the claim that If they do get the ability alot of people will no longer even bother coming to the cantina.
Why not?
What would change if someone can heal mind damage in the field? What difference is there?
(Without CM mind damage heal) A rifleman goes out, uses headshot3 a few times, and is done with combat.
(With CM mind damage heal) A rifleman goes out, uses headshot3 a few times, gets healed of mind damage, fires off a few more headshot3 moves, and is done with combat.
The second scenario is a bit faster as the enemy will go down faster. Oh, and in the second scenario, the Combat Medic incurs Mind Wounds. In fact, in the second scenario, the group is even more motivated to come to the cantina.
Here is another scenario. Tell me how this scenario discourages people from coming to the cantina.
(Without CM mind damage heal) Combatant receives Mind disease and accumulates 400 Mind wounds. Combat Medic says, "You don't look so good. Let's find an Entertainer."
(With CM mind damage heal) Combatant receives Mind disease and accumulates 400 Mind wounds. Combat Medic says, "I healed all your Mind damage, so you now have 100 Mind. Let's find an Entertainer."
While I respectfully disagree with the notion, I can see why some people are in favor of giving mind healing to Entertainers. They raise some good points. These good points should not be sullied with cries that the sky is falling. Do not make fallacious claims that this move will make Entertainers obsolete; it will not. Before complaining about how something makes cantina worthless, ask yourself, "Does this move mean that someone can bypass the need to heal Mind wounds and fatigue?" So far, a lot of the changes I've seen absolutely do not.
I agree that such a move puts too much into the abilties of Combat Medics. I was always rooting for Squad Leaders to get this ability. But that is a different topic altogether.
well, i look at it this way- the only desirous things CMs have right now is poison, especially the mind poison, and ranged heals. (at least i think thats all the goodies they've got, correct me if i'm wrong). if we give them this mind damage heal, hopefully we can convince the devs to take something away from those nasty mind poisons ![]()
i certainly would like to see squad leaders get some love though. and i certainly wouldn't say no to giving us some more perks either ![]()

They're not healing the actual wounds (the black bar) from damage and/or cloning without having data stored, they are healing the mind usage (the white bar) by using special moves, attacks and such from what I gathered when I posted this in another thread
