Thread: Registering... ??
My questions are on these two lines of the newest patch
- Added musician & dancer faction perks (+10% effect to heal wound/shock & +25% mind buff value)
- Streamlined doctor faction perks (+25% effect)
- Allow doctor, musician, dancer faction perks to work wherever they can factionally register
Being both a doctor and a dancer it would be pretty important to me where I can apply this 25% effectivness. I've seen the register icon in my list of skills and just have no idea what it's purpose is and how it ties in with the faction perk. I've tried it and registered successfully once and rest of the time get a "you cannot register here" type message. What's the rules on this thingy and is all registering considered factionally registering?
Anyone have any insight for me?
I believe a dancer that has chosen a faction either rebel or imperial will be able to heal 10% better and buff 25% better on someone of that same faction.
Ravenmist if no one knows the answer, do you it think it would be possibleto request anexplanation from a developer?
The /register ability is gained at Novice Dancer (and musician, which is why I think I can add to this). As far as I've been able to find, you can only register at cantinas and theaters. If you look at these buildings in the list on the planet map, you'll usually see crescent moon next to them. After /registering, that changes to a sun icon. This indicates that an elite entertainer is performing at that location, so if a combat character is trying to shake a 300 BF, he/she will know where to go. Doctors (or maybe high medics) can do the same thing in medcenters.
Now, you cannot register in hotels, taverns (little cantina/medcenter combo buildingin outposts) or player houses. Um, maybe in your *own* player house, I don't have one, can't try. I have stayed neutral, so I also don't know if you can register in a faction HQ (purchasable with faction points). If you can register at an HQ or base, I would suspect that's the only one that counts as the "factionally registering".
Well, reading over my rambling, I hope I've at least helped explain regular /register, since it appears I'm completely clueless about factional abilities. ![]()

Yes the registration feature is for the world map. The moon shows when there are persons in that facility needing heals and the sun is for occupied by a healer. I have another character that is a master doctor and I can say that registering significantly helps with the healing ability. So /register whenever you can, whether it be in a factional location or not. Not everyone is aware of this feature but telling a few of your customers "Look for the sun and I will be there" helps to educate them and can often save them long trips for nothing. Also another thing to note is that mind wounds lower the effectiveness of the healing a doctor does so make sure you let people know to get their minds healed first before heading to the med center.
