I am curious as to what each one of the lines in the dancing line does. I am able to see some brief descriptions, but nothing that just flat out states what each lvl in each line does. If you could please briefly explain what each line really does i would be very gratefull.

The answer is simple there are really three things you get from a dance. The higher the dane thie highe the exp for the dance. The higher the dance the faster you heal your customer. The look diffrent, all things concidered the way they look should be your prime reason for choosing one dance over another.

Not sure if this is what you mean or what yer lookin for.. but its my best guess what your looking for.

Knowledge = New Dances and Increase in healing rate

Techniques = Flashy lights and Increase Buffing Power

Fatigue = Heal Fatigue Faster

Wounds = Heal mind wounds faster.

Those are our 4 branches... that what you lookin for?

Btw.. I'm not going to break it down box by box if thats what your looking for. If you can't take what I wrote about the 4 lines and figure out what each box does then you don't deserve enough of my time to writeout what each seperate box in our Tree does.

I remember reading somewhere on the boards, that the flashy lights and smoke bombs and the other effects didn't help when your trying to mind buff someone, is that so?

I've heard they have the same effect as a flourish but both are so hard to judge that I honestly can't tell you for sure.

As far as we know, it does not help to do the effects while giving a buff. The only thing that matters is flourishing. HOWEVER...the higher you are in the technique line (the boxes that give new flashy effects), the more effective your buff is. I think it is this fact that makes people think that doing light effects during a buff makes the buff better/longer/whatever. I know I used to think that. But someone did some testing and pointed out that the only thing that matters is flourishes, and the special effects only use up action faster.

So I don't do them while buffing, unless a doctor has given me an action buff, in which case I use them for effect. I mean, I do want to be entertaining. Sure, Exotic 4 is mighty exciting...the first 100 times you've seen it. After that...I dunno...it kinda gets boring? LOL!

BTW Sultrina, Ravenmist, whoever - do you think the level of the dance (speaking as a master dancer here) has any effect on buffs? Do I have to do exotic 2/3/4, or could I buff someone with popular2 or lyrical2? Maybe poplock2? LOL!!

Yes, the dance you do does indeed very much impact how well you buff. Always use your highest dance possible, (or dances in the case of some boxes) if your buffing someone.

Interestingly what dance you are doing and how many flourishes has no effect on the strength of the buff. That comes in at a constant rate of a little less than 1% a second.

It affects how quickly the buff is applied tho, but not the overall strength no. Wish it wasn't that way but I can understand why he did it so I don't argue with him too much. Lets just say we don't agree, but of course when thats the case he wins.

I just wish they would give us a buffing meter that would tell us how long we had left to dance, etc, etc.

I also thing there should be an /EntertainerDiagnose that lets us see just mind based wounds and BF. I understand why we shouldn't be able to see health/action wounds, as we are not professional medics and could not tell whether an injury was bad or just superficial. But we ARE the medics of the mind and have every right to be able to tell when someone is war-weary or looking less mind-shocked. In fact we should be better at that than a regular medic.
