Thread: Group Mind Buff?

I have been told that a group mind buff is possible instead of doing individual buffs.

Does anybody know if this is true?

Allegedly it goes like this:

1- Form group with dancer and people to be buffed in the same group.

2- Dancer has to be the group leader

3- Dancer start dancing

4- Each member of the group has to watch the dancer during buff

5- Dancer has to setperformance for each group member

6- Dancer does performance with flourishes

7. (10) mins later the entire group is buffed

I don't know if its true and the night that I tried the Tmepest Server was bugged and we couldn't form groups on Dantooine where I was.

Anybody know about this?

Thanks!

Hi hon,

Group buffs are possible:

You need to be in the group, dont think it matters if you are leader or not (i've done buffs where i am leader and where i'm not), everyone in the group has to be watching you and you dont need to use the setperform command they all just need to watch you.... I usually dance/flourish for 10 - 15 mins (depends on how much of a rush the group is in) and the whole group gets the buff.

Hope this helps

What Alani said, plus...

I was with a hunt group so large there were two groups. While buffing my group {not as leader} I /setperform on each member of the other group. I thought I could only do one /setperform at a time..

15 minutes everyone was buffed!

Cool - I knew you could group buff and do /setperform on one person but not on multiple people - handy to know

I didnt know this either. I thought /setperform was a toggle. Anyone else have any input?

You use /setperform only ifsomebody is not in your group. If someone is grouped with you (and not playing or dancing themselves), they may watch andwill receive the buff from you automatically, with no need for you to ever type /setperfrom. In this way, everyone in the group can get the buff at the same time. It does not matter if you are already buffing, and someone joins the group. They may begin watching and will receive the buff if you sontinue dancing for them (while others may /stopwatch). Group buffs take the same amount of time to give as /setperform.

The fastest you can give a buff is around threeminutes. The key is to "spam-flourish." A fellow in the musician forum recommended you flourish 5 times per 8 seconds. You could probably buff your action stats, or have someone healing as you go. Maybe drink some T'ssolok to be safe. I was giving 3 minute buffs as a musician last night, and spoke to a dancer who managed the same.

They don't need to be grouped with you - they all need to be grouped with each other, and all of them set to watch you. Then you /setperform on one of them, and all of them will get the buff in the usual time frame (3 minutes minimum or so.)

Wow, if I read this right:

All you need to do is be in a group with an entertainer and watch a performer that is flouirshing and you get buffed, eventually?

This means the AFK dancers that have a join in the macro could be used to buff people by sending invites to them, wathcing them and then dropping them from the group?

Did I get that right? Almost kinda an exploit if true and flip sidecould be an item to be aware of ifAFKing.

It's not an exploit, everyone in your group can watch/listen to performers and automatically get a buff. If you are flourishing rapidly (about once per second) it takes 5 minutes to give a full 2 hour buff in this fashion (compared to 3 1/2 minutes for the target of your /setperformance -- which *is* single target). If you are flourishing about once every 10 seconds it takes about 15 minutes for group, and 8 minutes for /setperformance target to get a full 2 hour buff.

You don't need to be grouped to have a macro that automatically buffs people, you can use /ui action targetAtCursor and /setperform just as easily *shrug*

Oh, you don't need to be group leader and you don't need to /setperform anyone for the group buff to work either.

I've saeen people AFK buffing too. ::sigh:; pain in my butt if you ask me.

But anyway- I had always assumed that the /setperform was a 'one person only' sort of thing. Otherwise, what's the point of group buffing if you can still 'group buff' actively?

I suppose no one knows the answer so I'll have to find willing guineapigs to try it on. ^-^
