Okay, I feel silly but I can't get past the 2nd performance (after you get 20 people to watch you).
Three times now I have attempted it, and I can't get the audience reaction to be more than Neutral.
I poll the audience (do they add audience members as you run around and talk to them?) and I believe I get to all of them.
Then I go on stage and dance, and do what they ask. Yet, I can't get above neutral.
Is there something I'm missing? Some other thing I have to do while performing?
Thanks

Well, I don't know if it is an official "trick" to doing it, but I have done this 6 times successfully (3 times as a dancer and 3 as a musician), and here is *my* trick to it.
First, you have to know what they all want. Let's say for example, they tell you the like Flo 1 and 5, and the Footloose and Popular dances.
Second, you have to know what they hate. Let's say for example, they hate flo 8 and poplock.
First make sure at all costs you avoid what they hate. Then, you have to mix up and alternate what they like, and also throw in stuff they don't care about. Here is how I would do it.
Start with footloose. Do flo 1, flo 5, flo 1, flo 5, (and note here), flo 6 (not liked or hated).
Change to popular. Do flo 1, flo 5, flo 1, flo 5, (and again) flo 6.
At this point they should be neutral (give or take).
Change to formal. Yup, I know they didn't ask for it. But they don't hate it. Do flo 1, 5.
Now back to footloose. 1-5.
Back to popular. 1-5.
If they're still "thinking about it", I would alternate 1-5-6-1-5-6 at that point.
Every time, the system has worked. Do what they ask but occasionally throw in a dance they don't like or hate (just for a flo or two) or a flo they don't like or hate (just one, occasionally). It seems like it "resets" their consideration of you and you can then get points for doing the old stuff again. If you just do 1-5-1-5-1-5, the ones who like those flos never seem to "reset" their consideration and you can't get them to like you again.
At any rate, that's how I do it... and I've never failed one of these.
Please realize the flos and dances I use are EXAMPLES... you will need to replace them with the ones your audience requests/hates.

Thanks for the info!
Do they always give you 2 dances and 2 flourishes to do? I only thought I had one and didn't get a 'I hate' one from the audience the last time.
How do I smoothly change dances without stopping? or is stopping ok?
Thanks again!

Do not stop. Use /changedance.
/changedance formal
/changedance popular
/changedance exotic3
etc...
Talk to EVERYONE in the theater who is seated in an audience chair (standing people are not part of the audience -- ignore them). Normally you get at least 1 dance and 1 flourish they hate, and you should not do that one. Then usually you will get several other things they like. I believe it is usually 4 "things", either 1 dance and 3 flos, or 2 dances and 2 flos... but that might not be correct. To my recollection I usually had 2+2 "likes" and 1+1 or 1+2 "hates", but it's been a while.
Here's another trick. Make a new macro with the following line in it:
/conv
That is the converse command. Put it on your toolbar. You can then stand in the middle of the theater floor, and click on each NPC and hit the macro. They will tell you what they want to hear in the spatial spam. I used to try to run around and talk to them face to face but it takes too long and you will never get to them all before you have to start.
