Here's the numbers for the new Inspirations, including the recent changes. These are still subject to change. Please post here if you have any suggestions!



At Novice Ent - General, Artisan and Entertainer


General -

Increase experience by 10%,
Increase faction points by 10%


Artisan -

Increase artisan experience by 12%,
Increase resource quality for artisan crafting by 1%,
Increase assmebly success by 5%,
Increase experimentation success by 5%.


Entertainer -

Increase entertainer experience by 12%,
Use more instruments,
Use more dance props.


At Novice Dancer - Chef, Tailor, Bio-engineer, Merchant, Image Designer, Musician


Chef -

Increase chef experience by 15%,
Increase resource quality for chef crafting by 2%,
Increase assembly success for chef crafting by 10%,
Increase experimentation success for chef crafting by 10%.


Tailor -
Increase tailor experience by 15%,
Incrase resource quality for tailor crafting by 2%,
Increase assembly success for tailor crafting by 10%,
Increase experimentation success for tailor crafting by 10%.


Bio-engineer -
Increase Bio-engineer experience by 15%,
Increase resource quality for bio-engineer crafting by 2%,
Increase assembly success for bio-engineer crafting by 10%,
Increase experimentation success for bio-engineer crafting by 10%.


Merchant -

Increase Merchant experience by 15%,
Modify Hiring by 20 points.


Image Designer -

Increase image designer experience by 15%,
Increase holoemote generator charges. (we got 50 charges)


Musician -

Increase musician experience by 15%,
Use more instruments.


Applying Inspirations: At Novice Entertainer you gain the ability to apply an Inspiration. When a player watches or listens, target the player and use the command /inspire. You'll receive a popup box with the available Inspirations. Select the appropriate Inspiration and click OK. The Novice Entertainer General (xp & fp) Inspiration is the only one which is passive.

Musicians have a different set of buffs from dancers....

I think it'd be great if the devs could modify complexity with these buffs, as in a reduction, because it would essentially give lower factory times, which I'm sure would help out a lot of the BE's and other crafters.


Little disappointed it was reduced to 2% *ugh* but I'll survive. 5% would have been a better compromise for me as a chef, but I can understand the other professions needs.


Aside from that, looks good!

Yes, I liked the complexity idea too.

Or that it reduces the resources needed. Instead of 50 metal you need only 45 or so.

Drop the instrument abilities for musicians. If a novice can play my master level instruments then a padawan should be equivelant to a knight when buffed. Why have master level instruments?

I know I suggested that back in the original suggestions thread so mebbe there's some issue with it, or mebbe iti's still int he future, or mebbe it just fell through the cracks

I know I’m straddling the fence on this one also, but it’s my understanding the buff only increases the instrument skill by 2 boxes so I guess it’s not that bad.


One question however. How will it effect leveling musician’s exp gain? With dancers it’s the dance which determines how much exp we get, so I guess that’s why the “torches” and not dance-up buff for us. But with musicians, the higher the instrument the better the exp. Or has this changed recently? I admit it’s been a while since I cared about exp gain.

I think Scip said he asked about getting it switched to Songs instead of Instruments.

Well for musicians its songs or instruments. The highest one of both you use determine the XP. Highest song on the Slitherhorn or Starwars 1 on the highest Instrument should give about the same XP (if the skill is aproximately the same in song and instrument line, since its not the same line anymore)

I hope it stays Instruments though.

Now that would be totally sweet and I know I would force-feed the buff on every newbie playing SW1, like it or not they will get buffed


Hold still newbie, joo ARE getting buffed and no crying about it!
