*hugs*

You're always valuable to me... dancing is a social art, and the power gamers just don't understand that.

besides, we use the Squad Leader analogy for the whole 'useful' jokes. I have never seen a weaponsmith look as good as any dancer.

You know, we're all a community. Sometimes you have to take the good, the bad, and the irritating with all that it encompasses.

I really loathe RPing in this game, but I love doing cool things with my entertainer and sometimes just hanging making dances and bands.

You're a part of that joy, for me, even though I don't think we've ever met on Valcyn. Please consider being a part of that joy for others instead of 'giving up' on hope.

You know, I am not a huge fan of the way the devs do things but, it seems like they can't win here. Anything they give to entertainers that is useful, we hear will cause us to be "hated" and "resented." But if they don't give us those things, we are "useless."

How are they supposed to win in such a setting?

The way for them to "win" is to realize that the entertainer professions are played for various reasons and thus no single solution is possible. There are some of us who chose the professions to be healers and there are some who chose it to be performers. Performers need a performance content addition and the former healers need.. well.. something to replace that. For too long they focused on the wrong goal, and it's one reason I was so vocal about it. They struggled with trying to "define" the social playstyle instead of simply recognizing that people wanted a character who entertained for some purpose. That purpose might be fame, it might be as a spy in the GCW, it mght be as a healer/enhancer.. So the only way to win is to realize that if they wish to have a diverse community then they must provide the ability for those who chose the profession to express their playstyle. It's similar to making an assumption that anyone who choses a combat class wants to sit in Theed and engage in non-stop PvP and "smack talk" and then getting surprised when those who aren't into that quit.

Meliya, I can only offer a hug and hope you'll find enjoyment again. I know it's been a tough road and there isn't much light out there.

I think it's silly to let a few grumps chase you off before you even see how well this works for you... I highly doubt it's going to be half as bad as they are implying it will be. As for people making fun of us... ok, we're dancing and playing music in a game where most people think combat is the only reason to play a game!

I hate Ent harassment too and always have, but I really think we're in a better spot now. I also am pretty darn hopeful other non-buffing content will be coming down for us that will actually bemore for our own direct enjoyment. If you reallyfeel like you need to sit out the next few dances till you feel safe enough to come back out on the floor, I hope you have a nice break and get back with the boogie soon.

I'm going too, dear.

I don't like what this game had turned me into. There was a time that a nasty thought wouldn't even enter my mind. Now, all I have is bitterness. And it is because, for the life of me, still cannot understand why players find reasons to hate me as a player who plays a dancer.

I would have never thought that something so harmless and trivial like dancing can be treated with so much scorn.

At launch, I danced for everyone, and they were free to tip me whatever they thought was right, or nothing at all. I amused. I felt like I was important, because by dancing--just by dancing--I did important things. The other players stood up for me, and took care of me. After all, how can anyone hate a dancer who asks for nothing?

There was no reason, yet they found reasons anyway. And if they can find reasons when there are none, then they'll be sure to find reasons when there are some. Like not clicking the stupid buffing menu on them, or not being at the computer, and in their workshop, when they want to craft.

I never had to worry about anything but my dance. Now I have to worry about so many other things, it doesn't seem that fun anymore. It seems like such a struggle just to have fun.

It would be nice to see professions really living up to their full potential, but as of yet there seems to be no real sign of this. At the bare minimum Id like to see them forming ideas to take them into SWG2, and if it goes beyond that then Id like to see those ideas get implemented a bit early into this game. There are plenty of ideas floating around out there to make this happen, basically it boils down to interactivity between professions, even while on the surface those professions seem independent, making them work like a real profession will fill in the gaps.

Rangers in a recon mode, laying traps to deter the enemy and discoving their positions

Smugglers actually smuggling various goods to and from systems and potentially even players

Entertainers having an actual fame system, Id love to see entertainers becoming famous on more than just the galaxy boards... Put that name up in lights, I know its possible.

The list goes on....
