Im bored of going out into the wild, going boom boom boom, than do it again and again

So i want to go into the entertaining buisness

I also want to make my own clothes, so im going tailor

so my template is going to be

master tailor/ a little merchant/ and an entertaining profession

my question is with the new buffs now, and im confused with the profession specific buff

Would it matter if i go dancer rather than musician, or vice versa?

Would i get more watchers if i was a specific profession?

And one other question, about the tree x000 in dancer, it seems useless to me, and i woukd rather use those points in the x000 tree of merchant. If i got a droid that does the special effects, do i need the x000 tree or not?

Thanks for all your help!!!

It depends on what your goal is. First keep in mind that these new buffs do not allow self buffing so you will not receive any benefits from your *own* buffing skills. If you want to use your buffs to help others, then there is a difference between which professions you can buff as a Musician or Dancer. With the new changes, it looks like this (stolen from Red Dwarf's post)

Dancers have the following elite buffs: Chef, Tailor, Bio-Engineer, Merchant, Image Designer, Musician

Musicians have the following elite buffs:Architect, Droid Engineer, Weaponsmith, Shipwright, Armoursmith, Dancer

(for more info on these buffs, please refer to the original post)

You are granted these buffing abilities from the Novice level of Musician and Dancer and advancing in either profession grants only an increase in duration of the buffs, but not the potency of the buff. You may want to choose either breadth by taking Novice Musician and Dancer to offer the greatest variety of buffs, or specialize in one or the other for personal preference or to grant longer buffs in one of the two sets. If you do want to specialize, then I believe only the Enhancement skill line (0x00 - someone correct me if this is the wrong line) will improve your buff duration. None of the other lines will have any effect on your ability to buff.

The Techniques line offers only things to enhance your performance options. The Props line for Dancers is the same, though for Musicians, I think their props line is combined with their ability to craft and use instruments if I'm not mistaken, so there's more of a difference there. If you want to Master you will have to fill these lines, if not, then they are optional (but fun ).

If you want to choose one or the other, I'm not sure if we know yet which is more 'useful'. Time will tell, though even that may depend on which types of professions you are most likely to see or in which professions you have more friends or guildmates or even which professions you would rather help.

I vote try them all out and go with the one you enjoy playing the most. I've never had a tailor/ID before but have tailor on one character and ID on another on the same server and have had loads of fun in the past doing costuming and makeup for occasions as well as for other entertainers. Ultimately..your's is your game and you should do what is most enjoyable to you.

Yes! I can unequivocally say you will only get watchers as a dancer! You won't get any as a musician!

... that's because you get *listeners* as a musician... Hee hee....

Seriously though... do what is fun. I started out with a dancer and she is still a master dancer, but I play music more than dance now, because I enjoy it more. Or maybe it's just newer than dance, since I have only been doing music for a year or so. (Dance for 2.)

Go Image Designer. Best of the entertainer professions. You can't self buff so you might as well make people look fantastic with hot clothes and a great look.

I'm considering dropping dancer and musician to go ID/Smuggler. I could slice terminals and change my looks in case an imperial agent is looking for me afterwards.

I <3 ID so much. I constantly have one of my alts as a Master ID. Currently Goldy is the MID. Best profession ever. I can change my skin color to match my mood on a whim!
