Thread: Buffing without a buff

Okay, I see buffbots seemingly running without a buff and their action never goes down and they 100% buff in 4 mins. I have migrated my stats to maximize action, quickness and stamina and yet my action pool drops like a rock when buffing. I can't even make it through a buff cycle without heals. So my question is....how do I apply a buff without first having to get a quickness buff?

For those curious, I only buff ATK.

I use the following macro for flourishes.

/flourish 1;

/flourish 2;

/flourish 3;

/flourish 4;

/flourish 5;

/pause 8;

/macro flourishloop;

I have also tried...

/flourish 1;

/pause 2;

/macro flourishloop;

and...

/flourish 1;

/macro flourishloop;

They all do the same thing to my action.

Please help.

All the buffbots I've ever seen are human. This is because humans can max their action stats so that they never run out of action while buffing. My Tarquinas dancer is human and can do the same thing. My other dancers are not human and must rely on buffs or a double dose of really strong accaragm.

there's also food you can take to boost you actoin substats (and spice but it only lasts 8 to 10 minutes...then it's puking time)

I have used accaraghm (sorry I don't know the real spelling) its a wookie drink which enhances the action bar and can last up to 45 minutes or more...

Perhaps that was what you saw. I never lost much from my action bar after drinking that stuff.
It was from a Chef. A Master Merchant traded it to me as a tip. It works very well...

Use a low dance! Basic, rhythmic, and popular are my favorites because there is a negligible effect on the outcome of the buff and you can still do it in 4 minutes. I have my action pool at its lowest with my stamina and quickness migrated pretty high up. I hardly use action on my buffs since I change to a lower dance, and you can still do moves that go with almost any song with those dances.

I've never gotten very good results from arcaccarm...what ever its called but breath of heaven seems to keep my action from burning too bad (buffs one of the substats)

I can do a 4 min buff using 2 shots of BE enhanced Accarragm (Chef drink). I do the buff totally unbuffed, execpt for this drink. My character is a Human male with 1100 quickness.

Yes, just use a low level dance. I find that if I do Basic or Rhythmic I have just enough action to complete a full buff without any heals or external buffs. As long as you're doing lots of flourishes, the dance practically doesn't matter. As far as what the buffbots do, I'm not sure. Maybe they combine lower level dances with few flourishes? (I pay as little attention to them as possible, and often end up leaving if there's one around.) It's possible to give a full buff with no flourishes, but it takes longer. Tiaga, I think, wrote up a comprehensive analysis of buffing using different dances, different numbers of flourishes and time. It's a bit complex, but it's a good read, and you should still be able to find a link to it on the entertertainer forum.
