I have always been combat on my characters and 1 master doctor is on 1 so I know nothing about entertainer.... Iam almost master dancer "2,4,2,3" and when i do i want to buff people "obviously
" but i dont see any skills that say buff on them? How do i buff people once i master master dancer.... here what i have heard and hopefully u guys can clarify. If there is one person they dont have to be grouped to u and u just type /setperform and they watch u and get buffed.... BUT if its multiple people they HAVE to be grouped with u and they just watch u and u dont actually have to do the /setperform. My questions are the following: 1. What determines the power of the buff? 2. What determines how long the buff lasts? 3. How long should it take me to buff them AND do i have to do flourishes in the dance or what actually gives them that buff that i perfrom "ie. flourishes, or soemthing i dont know about?"?
If anyone could plz answer 1-3 and if i got the "how u buff" part wrong could u plz clarify it for me iam very confused on it

The power of the buff is based on 2 things, the main one being your 'Dancing Mind Enhancement' stat which is directly proportional to the patron's mind stat. A +50 Dancing Mind Enhancement stat will add 50% of a person's current blue mind pool. At master, you have a +100 which is capable of doubling the mind. The buff lasts longer based on how much you flourish. Someone will tell you that you can do ANY FLOURISH OF ANY DANCE, it hardly affects it, and as long as you have a macro that does one flourish every 2 seconds, you will be golden for the buff and it should take just under 4 minutes(I like to add 50 seconds for those n00bs who forget to watch).
Here's a link for a basic FAQ on buffing
HOW TO BUFFz0rZ
The main way to figure it out if you can't make heads or tails of the link is to just try it, but the link should help a lot.

More technical details, the one that we actually use in our FAQ now, and the one that the Devs have approved as the most up to date guide can be found here. Our dear Ravenmist had to write that first one way back in the day before the Two Minute Watch Requirement and 30 Second Delay.
Still a good read for a little background on the purpose of the targeted buff though... and just cause RM roxxors.

I'm not great at describing game mechanics, but i can tell you how to be a great entertainer. Greet people when they come in. Many will ignore you, a few won't-they will tip. If you recognize a previous customer, give them special acknowledgement-they tip more and keep coming back. Thank people for tips, even if small-they will tip again in the future. When you are AFK, keep your spam minimal or nonexistant-this will keep you off ignore lists. Stay out of imp/reb politics while performing-you will get caught in the crossfire and alienate customers. Make pleasant conversation-this will mean big tips and gifts. Have different macros for entertaining and buffing-this will help customers figure out which you are doing and keep you from getting bored and boring. Thank your healers-they will keep healing you. Develop a unique look, not just the standard fleshwraps-if you are eye-catching and stylish, you will get a better quality customer.
Remember, entertaining is customer service-give the service you would like.

I would agree with ya 100% Naaxin, if it wern't for that little part about being AFKas I usually just stop playing and sit down since I will be right back, or if I am going to be gone longer than 5 - 10 minutes, I just log out.
Besides that (IMHO), you nailed Entertainer Customer Service right on the head ![]()

Yeah, that would have been my advice too like almost a year ago. *shrug* I still pretty much play this way and still give this advice, but it's not the same environment at all. Maybe it will be at some point. FWIW, this is covered in our FAQ too.

Am i correct on the part about if its one person they dont have to be grouped with u and u just type /setperform and u are now buffing them but if its more then 1 person they have to be grouped with u and all they have to do is watch u, there is no command when its for more then 1 ???

You are correct. If you are buffing a group of people then being in the group and flourishing is all you need to do - well and set a timer as many players will rely on you to tell them to start watching and when to stop to activate the buff.
Also you can type /setp and it's the same as typing /setperformance
