as a former dancer and a future jedi knight of the most evil and darkest sort i would love to have a transportable buff device. perhaps a disc recording of my favorite dancer i could watch in the field to re-apply a buff. one that could be recorded by the dancer requiring ATK play during the recording process by doing specific random dance moves or music moves that could then be traded/sold for future use.
one of the complaints i hear is that entertainers have no way to make money...

Yeah we've tossed around ideas like this for going on years now. Word from the devs, "Wait for our revamp". So you're SOL just like we are.

We've been kicking around the idea of holorecordings in one form or another for... hmm, about forever it seems. Some entertainers think it'd be a great way to make some money and make buffs more available, others see them as a potential threat to replacing the need or want for player interaction. In any case, it's something we've brought up for discussion at several points.
Oneof the most recent threads about it:
Though I'm pretty sure a search would bring up threads dating back quite a way.

I like the idea... I would love something, anything, that contributes to the game and that I could do to make money as an entertainer.

the real problem with such an idea is possible abuse. If you make them too easy to sell and trade they will be, and no one would go to the live one if another was more convient. I think a person could buy a certain device that will record and they would have to request a secure transfer much like the new image designer format to record. It works since you can't afk image designer anymore. Leaving normal ones as is, i don't like asking a set price as alot of other people i know. I don't know about a set number of charges as it might take people out of cantinas, but if there were buff reductions from battle fatigue they would have to go to cantina. Each charge adding a more time to do. All ideas probally posted already though i bet.

I love the idea myself. It has the potential of taking us out of the combat preparation timeline that we've become so resented for. While I love the idea of it being some sort of portable enhancement. I would prefer to see them result from interaction rather than purchased off the bazaar. The best suggestion I've heard yet (probably in the thread Deila clickied) is for a limited-use, rechargable device that can only be recharged by a live entertainer. Just switching our buffs from targetting a player to targetting a device doesn't fully do it for me though. I would also like to see the buff duration dependent upon time invested rather than number of flourishes performed.
Ok..so there are about a thousand different thoughts I've had on all of this!

omg you guys are totally missing the opportunity here!! A JEDI wants it. Please, Mr. or Ms. Jedi. Post this on the jedi forums so that someone who can do something about it can read it. Thanks.

It would also be cool if you needed a droid to playback the disk...AND you saw a little holographic recording playback.
